Hello all,

As the title says, I just got into vaping. I decided to skip all wasteful purchases & went straight to Reo. Sounds like I made a good decision & I'm glad I did.

Got my two Reos yesterday. A Mini 2.1 & a Grand. I absolutely love em! :D

Img_3657_zps98031ace.jpg

Along with them I picked up a Kick for the Grand, an A7 RBA, Cisco 1.5Ω 510 atty, & an inexpensive 1.5Ω 510 atty from Reo. I haven't used the Kick or the A7 yet as I need to tweak the RBA & probably try shortening it by remachining it on the lathe. The Cisco atty works pretty well. But the atty I got from Reo does not work nearly as well ast the Cisco, but expected.

Both the 1.5Ω atties are bridged. But the one from Reo floods very easily. If I squonk to the point where I barely get juice flowing into the catch cup it's flooded & barely hits even if I take a few pulls without firing first. It takes a while to clear out the atty (unless I remove it & clear it out by blowing). As it starts to clear, it starts vaping more but it gets harsh, then it eventually starts hitting fine. I can only squonk very lightly in order to consistently keep it hitting decent. This was with the Grand, I tried it on the Mini & got the same result.

With the Cisco, if I squonk to the point where juice flows into the catch cup it still hits great with no decrease in vape. So I figured I would try removing the bridge on the atty I got from Reo. But before I do I just want to make sure. I already removed the mesh that's over the brindge, same result. If I understand it correctly the bridge is the part that is under the mesh that I removed & I must remove that too? And the coil & wick should be exposed under that, correct? I'm starting to think it may be the same as it seems like the coil doesn't heat up strong enough as if the battery was dying.

What do you guys & gals prefer for Reos, bridged or unbridged? I just placed another order for two more Ciscos, another bridged as a spare & an unbridged to try for myself. I use full VG only (or as full as I can get), no PG for me.

Thanks for any help & putting up with another noob.

Great way to start out!!!

I have never tried anything else but the Reo's. Can't help you anything except recommending the shorty 1.5 or 1.7 carto's and if you want trouble free RBA bliss pull the trigger on a Reomizer2. Get comfortable with the cartos though, if your just starting off then your still trying new flavors and just getting accustomed to your new gear.

you've come to the right place for advice or help.

Just ask. 24/7 there's usually a reonaut willing to offer advice or direction.

Congratz on your new REO's! Stunning pair for sure!

I only used one other cig looking PV before grabbing up a REO Grand. Best decision I ever made!

You mentioned juice in the catch cup when you squonk. Most of us use the blind squonk method. Draw without firing and squonk till you hear a little gurgle. Stop squonking and you should be set to vape. A full bottle of juice takes only a second or two push this way.

I tried at first to watch the juice come into the drip well. It made it much more difficult to have a atty that was not flooded.

I have used all different attys. The Joye 1.5 in either 510 or 306 are my regular choice. I am using multiple RBA's too.

Sorry, I can't answer the atomizers questions -- I never got the hang of them except for cisco 306 bridged. All the rest of my atomizers were bridgeless 510s and I would constantly flood them.

A7, however, is very nice! There's a big sticky thread on its safe operation, you definitely want to check it out.

And, of course, welcome to Reoville! One of the most helpful and friendly communities on ECF, based on possibly the best line of mods! You'll love it here, and you'll love your Reos. I would also very strongly recommend Rob's RM2 rebuildables, if you decide that rebuildables are your bag. If you can afford it, they're well worth the price difference compared to A7.

Congrats on yer new REO's darkzero welcome to the REO world. I tried a Cisco hh357 which was pretty good but lasted only a couple weeks so not very cost effective and it spit a lot. Heard a lot of good things about the non rba types (low resistance) they have though. Using the reomizer 2.0 now, which leaves the rest much to be desired.

Wow, thanks and for the quick replies & advice! I like this section already! Sounds like my kind of place.

In regards to squonking, yes I actually prefer blind squonking as I don't like overflow into the juice well. Mainly the reason why I mentioned doing that is to show the difference between the performance of the two that one floods very easy & the Cisco I haven't yet. I first encounted the flooding not by squonking to point where I got overflow, but I guess squonking more frequent than necessary or than the atty could handle. May not make all that much sense but I can flood the non-Cisco atty without overflowing into the juice well pretty easily if I'm not careful.

I will also add that buying 2 reo's right off the bat the bat is one heck of a way to roll.

Thanks! I couldn't resist ordering the mini with the copper vein door after I ordered the Grand. I tend to have that problem & can't control myself. I knew I would regret it if I didn't & I'm even happier that I did get it but things don't always work out that well if you know what I mean. I knew I wanted a second smaller mod for certain times & the mini seems to be the right choice.

Great choice of mods, and beautiful color choices, too. I usually debridged any 510 atty I used if it didn't come debridged. The bridge was just not necessary for a bottom-feeder in my eyes. I always liked the Joye 510 attys; then I discovered the Cisco HH 357s and loved them. THEN I discovered rebuildables and end of story. The RM2 rebuildable on the Reos Mods site is awesome.

When you get around to using the A7 on your REOs, be sure you've read this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/401265-dealing-a7.html There are a few little glitches in the A7 that can short out your REOs if you're not aware of them and watch out for them. Mainly, the center post is a little wobbly, and it sticks out too far, so you need to be careful before you put it on your REO. That thread is definitely a worthwhile read BEFORE you use the A7.

Welcome to Reoville.....

Thank you all for the warm welcoming! :toast:

Thank you Jan for that info! I did start to read some of the A7 thread, that's why I know not to use it right away. I probably fell asleep before reading the whole thread though, great info in there.

And thank you most of all Robert for producing these wonderful items. I'm a home hobbyist machinist so I can really appreciate the build quality in these. PS, I replied to your email earlier today, hope you are able find one!

Sorry, San Fernando Valley. Like in movies (I think 80s era) where they refer to "The Valley", that's the San Fernando Valley. Big Sylmar earthquake in the 70s & Northridge earthquake in 94? Just south of Magic Mountain. 818 area code.

Is it near Tijuana?
Just kidding

So I figured I would try removing the bridge on the atty I got from Reo.

Last night I debridged it with no damage to the rest of the atty at all. I thought it seemed to hit better at first but guess I was wrong. Still the same & lacks flavor compared to the Cisco. I just checked the resistance on it & I was surprised to find that it read 2Ω! I could of sworn it measured 1.6Ω when I first got it.

Oh well, maybe it might work better with the Kick & I may just use it for dripping. I have two more Ciscos that should be here Mon & I'll be working on modifying my A7 RBA later today.

BTW, I must say, I absolutely love my Reos, I can't put them down even if I'm not vaping. I just love to hold them!
