So my gf decided to quit smoking and I myself quit smoking 8 year ago.. So I told her I wouldld buy her a e cigg now I knew better than to buy one of the cartridge ones at the gas stations so I visited the local mall and I got her an "Evod Starter Kit" which I paid 35 dollars for but I know now it was overpriced but I figured hey why not it's an easy way in the vaping world.. We'll I wanted to be there for my gf so I decided to get myself one so she would feel better around the house smoking the. Ape so I bought one too and just run 0% nicotine. We'll 3 evod batteries later I'm getting fed up with it, my evod runs fine except it leaks into my mouth all the time which is gross.. Is that normal? I get plenty if vape from mine but she complains it isn't enough so I am in search of a superior vaporizer on a budget if course.. Anyways if you guys could enlighten me or let me know if I can do something with this evod for her to make it better I would appreciate it a lot thanks guys!

Flooding Issue
Sounds like your atomizer is flooding. To fix a flooded atomizer take your tank off the battery and blow through the mouthpiece (with a paper towel under it). This will drain the extra eliquid.

When you inhale, take a long smooth draw vs a short sharp draw. This will prevent extra eliquid from being pulled into your coils and flooding it. Inhalation technique with an e-cigarette

Whenever you first sense that your atomizer is beginning to flood try this:
1. Open up the airflow so when you take a hit you are not pulling in as much juice into your coils (if your tank has airflow control) .
2. Raise your voltage or wattage if your battery allows you to do this. This will vaporize more eliquid.
3. Tip your battery up (and take a few hits). By tipping it up you will prevent more eliquid from being fed into the coils.

Give one or all of these a try.:)

New Battery
Consider an MVP v2 (small box mod)

1. Huge (2600 mah) battery
2. Variable Voltage - Voltage can be adjusted from 3.3 ~ 5.0 in 0.1 volt increments
3. Variable Wattage - Wattage can be adjusted from 6.0 ~ 11.0 in 0.5 watt increments
4. Ohms Meter - Reads the resistance of your atomizer
5. Pass through ability
6. $40 shipped at many online stores

I would agree that cranking down on a tank will eventually make it leaky, it squashes the little rubber spacers in the coil heads. I have several Evod tanks and like they way they vape but they can get flooded, never had one leak though. My suggestion, if you like that form factor, is to step up to the PTMini2. I still use them with all the gear I have and like them a lot.

10 coils a month is not normal at all. I go through a coil every 3-4 weeks in my PTMini2 tanks but I am not vaping them all day every day either. If I had to guess, based on using those tanks only, at least a week would be normal and two would still be within reason.

The evods were nothing but trouble for me , the protanks were a little better but not much , the last clearomizers I used were the Aspire's , they were a relief from all the flooding issues I had with Kanger tanks , I'd suggest going to the Aspire Nautilus mini with the BVC heads , it'll be a big improvement over the evods . Something else is how fast the coils go bad me and her went through 10 coils in a month is that normal?

As far as maintenance we had them about a month and a week not sure really

10 coils a month is what I would expect, maybe worse. I used to run 3 evods and used a 5 pack most weeks for those 3.

If the kit was $35, I think you did OK. The tank/clearomizer bit is where your problem lies, and that's the cheapest bit to upgrade.

I didn't use evod clearos for long.... way to inconsistent for me. They were useless playing 18 holes in a bouncy bag... leaky city. :)

Ill chime in and tell ya that I should have skipped the skimpy batteries and stupid wick hanging down tanks. As a woman thought I wouldn't enjoy a box mod got the mvp2 with a Protank2 alot of people dont like the pro tanks but eventually the coils can be rebuilt. Then you get that enough feeling ur gf is looking for. I've been at this for awhile and had my ups and downs. But go MVP2 protank 2 or aspire nautilus. MVP2 is great for both. ECF is a great place to find all the answers we are here to help.
    Happy vaping!

My wife is ...slowly...seeing that there is a better way. I just have to say that I am keeping it simple for HER. I deal with the tanks, cleaning and adjustments because she just wants it...easy. But, we are moving along. Each morning I have her "system" charged, filled, and tested.

Currently, she is using a Vision Spinner and Itaste Twist with Protank 2s.

I guess, for me, I am realizing to be patient and not to upset the boat. As long as the boat is moving forward...

If (when) she is ready for more, I will start her on an MVP and Nautilus tank.

I have to agree with many here. I really enjoy my Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0. It comes with the iClear 30 which I find will also gurgle at times. If I may make a suggestion it would be to invest in the Aspire Nautlius 5ml pyrex glass tank or the Mini version with a 2.0ml tank. Both have adjustable ariflow and work excellent. I have never had either of the tanks to gurgle.

leeklylee suggested the Eleaf iStick. I have one of them on order and cannot wait to try it out.

This forums is really great you guys have went above and beyond to help me, thanks again.. so the protank is just a mod i suppose?? and what kind of coils will the mvp use? at the place i started in my local mall they have begun offering a new tank that has a "Ceramic Coil" I am not jumping to get one because they don't offer any ceramic coil replacements as of yet.. " cart before the horse? " anyways whats your take on this?

    Hmmm.

Ceramic stuff has been around for a while (GG iAtty, anyone?) and the concept is often sound.

BUT, the first rule of e-cig is to ask before you buy, and avoid buying the latest 'game changer'. If they can tell you what it's called, then you can check with us.

I wouldn't go near anything with no replacments... did that once... what a PITA.

No, the MVP2 is the Vaporizer. It has an internal battery that you charge just like a phone. The Protank is the tank/clearomizer with the a Bottom Coil Changeable (BCC) that you replace. The protank sits on top of the vaporizer/MOD. There are terms used inter-changeably so it is easy to get confused. I see a clearomizer as a tank with an atomizer (coil) in it. The vaporizer heats the coil in the clearomizer which vaporizes the liquid in the tank. Still, a lot of terms for similar things...Hope helps

Thanks so much french for helping me understand that its much clearer now, seriously you guys are great! so im on 101vape and I figured i may aswell get a mvp for myself and put it through the trials and understand it before i get one for the gf so i can fully help her understand it, the protanks are sold out, is that a necessary mod? if not what kind of coils should i buy with it? or is there a tank youd reccomend? the protank 2 was ons ale for 10.99 but its out of stock on that website? The Aspire Nautlius would be a decent upgrade? is it neccesary? is it because its air adjustable? Do i get bigger vapes? will the tank that comes with the mvp leak? What about the Kanger Mini Protank 3 its only 8.99..
