So, I discovered electronic cigarettes at a Trade Fair held in my city. They were selling these e-cigs by "E-Health Cigarettes". I decided to buy a pack, this pack looks like a regular cigarette box with 7 flavours, the e-cig and an in-built charger. When I got home and tried it out, there was a burning sensation at the back of my throat instantly. I searched the net for this thing and found out the catridges could have nicotine in them.

Now, I have never smoked cigarettes before except shisha/hookah which I've done 10-20 times. I know nicotine is highly addictive and do not want to get addicted to it. But I'm not sure if the catridges do contain nicotine or not, but the seller said they contained no nicotine and no tobacco. But I'm having this burning sensation which has got me worried.

I've puffed it 10-15 times for now, but I'm not doing it anymore until I find out if it is safe for me or not.

Please do reply.

Thanks.

Hello CigNewb!

Most people here in the forum are former analog smokers who jumped to e-cigs to pacify them while trying to quit smoking. But there are a few, and I'm one of them, who were virtually non-smokers who got into "vaping" and became "hooked on vaping". The argument can be made that if you are not addicted to cigs, then it is just flat-out stupid to pick up a vapor kit.

Please note that I am one of those "Stupid people". I kicked my 2-pack a day habit over 10 years ago, but had started smoking about 4-6 a week and work and knew I was about to fall back on the wagon. After toying with cheap e-cigs - probably along the lines of what you have now - I bought a much higher quality set up and my caffeine intake has skyrocketed since then.

There is a medical sub-group on this site that gets into health issues, and I am not really qualified to get into details. I can tell you that vaping is MUCH MORE HEALTH than smoking traditional cigarettes, but would not want to go on record saying that there are no health risks.

Good luck to you, whatever you decide!

hello and welcome, there is room for all of us here :) at ECF. IMHO the kit you received is extremely sub par. I'm thinking the burning and throat issue is the cartomizer filling burning...Not good. if your intrested in trying ecigs do a little research here and pick one you think you'd like. The 510 series may be a better fit for you, you can also find good juice vendors here with a wide variety of juice from 0nic to 32 nic. Good luck!
