Hello all!

I have been browsing the forums and just reading since my mum gave me one of her spare Ego vapes last Sunday, I am 20 years old and had been smoking for 5 years, must say I did thoroughly enjoy a good ciggy, I tried vaping once with a crappy cigarette looking type around 2 or 3 years ago and never got on with it whatsoever, seemed like another wasted stop-smoking device. When my mother started vaping and stopped smoking a couple of months ago I have to admit I was pretty against it (sorry!) from just general distrust of new things being pushed on to general public and lack of common sense on my part. I am not ungrateful however and started to use the one she gave me that Sunday, then realised they have come a long way since the vape I tried previously! Then of course I decided to do some actual research which led me here, rather than coming to my own conclusions upon it, and I now have fully reformed views on vaporisers, bordering in love. I have had just one cigarette since I started vaping, it tasted awful and made me give all my accesories and tobacco to a friend, I have high hopes I will never touch a ciggy again!
I can't get enough of the damn thing, unfortunately as I type I am battling my first nicotine overdose- doh! Just two days ago I purchased the Tecc Curve Mini VV (Eleaf Istick rebranded) mod kit upon recommendation of a great shop in my town, and I can see a new fully fledged hobby just on the horizon! :vapor:

Also, I have a question, my mod displays the battery percentage, it will drop to around 10% so I start to charge it, but as soon as I plug it in, it jumps up to around 40% battery, is this normal, and what does it mean?

Hope everybody is doing fine and dandy, looking forward to getting to know everybody here, keep vaping!
Sam

Hey Sam, and welcome!
Glad you made the switch.
Regarding your charging issue - I use 2 iStick 30w devices as backups now and then, and they both do the same - the move very quickly from empty to 3 bars and the remaining 2 bars charge the whole way to full. Have had no problems, in a few hours the iSticks are full and ready to give a 2 days vape each.

Indeed, let's keep on vaping.

Thanks,
R

Thanks for the replies guys, I noticed once I stop charging and it's at 100%, the battery tends to go down extremely fast for the first 30-40%, next time I run it out I will try using my Ego charger which indicates with a green light when the device has finished charging, perhaps I need to continue to charge it even once it is displaying 100%.
Thanks again, peace!

Hello Sam.

The 'Curve' is a nice set up, and the price of the kit is similar (overall) to the iStick.

Was the shop independent or a Totally Wicked store? Make sure you research prices as you continue with your vaping. I'll say no more until you reply. :)

I do believe its part of Totally Wicked as there is the little devil dude on most of the things they sell, I payed £39.99 for the whole kit, which I am fully aware is much more than I would pay online, yet I originally went in with the intention of picking up the Innokin Itaste battery alone, and was happy to pay the extra for the amount of customer service I revieved- which tends to be a pretty common quality of vape stores. Not only that but I believe physical stores can be used as a base for much more than online stores can, including more local meet-ups and legislation battles, and on top of all, advertising.
It was a huge shame to watch all the independent record stores shutting down in my town, customer service can be priceless.. I am a die hard physical shopper ;)

I've got a Curve and noticed the charging thing too. Once the battery is showing fully charged - all 5 bars flashing on and off when the battery is switched off - you'll find that when it's switched on and charging the little battery indicator on the left will remain lit so it looks fully charged, but after about another 20-30 mins the indicator will go out. I believe that this is when the battery is finally fully charged. Hope this helps.

Sounds similar to mine, because I have the mini I have a screen on top showing a numbered percentage, but there is a little flashing percent sign, I'll try it out in combination with my Ego charger, as that displays a green light when the device is fully charged! :)

Hello & welcome Sam :)

How far SW are you? I'm in Cornwall & we have fairly regular vape meet ups down this way :)

I am in Yeovil, Somerset, but will happily travel for a good enough vape meet! :D

In that case, the Prestleigh meet ups would be closer to you. Here is a link to a thread about the next one -

I think you misunderstood my original post. £39.99 for the kit is the same price as online... which is good!

I do shop at TW stores, but I don't generally buy the liquids and replacement parts. It would be many hundreds of pounds a year more for me, even vaping <100 bottles a year. Maybe it's a roll up smoker's attitude. (I think smoking cost me £700 a year)... shame about the cost to my health... but that's done now.

Not sure you want to be charging your Istick with an Ego charger - it's not designed to be charged that way and you could ruin it / blow it up. I might be wrong on this but I really wouldn't risk it.

Yes, that is just down the road from me, I'll be well keen for my first meet! Thanks very much! :)

This shop does 3 bottles for a tenner which isn't too bad I guess, and they don't sell bigger than 10ml bottles so I can see how the price can add up, I was spending about a tenner a week on rollies, not including papes (never bought filters though), so when I inevitably start vaping heavier, chances are it's going to be costing about the same, so I would probably appreciate a cheaper liquid supplier, what do you use?
