I have to agree with zoiDMan on the drip box being more for someone with more experience. I'm not saying it's a bad device, just too fiddley for a beginner trying to stop smoking. Why don't you put that unit on the shelf for now and concentrate on your subox Mini which is a great device for beginners. I would start with the 1.2 ohm coils at 10 - 15 watts (start low and work your way up) and your nicotine around 12 mg. I think you will find this more pleasurable and less to mess with. Once you master this device then get the drip box out and learn all about it from You Tube videos and the instruction manual. Good Luck and Good vaping.

@djsvapour - I have a Dripbox, and it's quite amusing. Not bad for the price point. And (sorry @Izan) I don't mind the atty. It's o.k., but I do prefer my Velocities :D

I am seriously thinking about getting one.

P Busardo had some comments against it. The chap (Tony?) from Vapor Trail Channel says it's regulated, but I'm not so sure. Busardo says you start where you start (0.2ohms/factory head x battery output) and it goes downhill from there.
Also, the very nice Tony was quite pleased to put an MXJO in his and, well, do we really know the amp drain on these? Kinda sketchy.

If I made a nice dual coil in the 0.4-0.5 region, that would suit me for some blasts in the evening.

If it simply 'does' the battery power, then I'm definitely getting one as it does look entertaining and I have low standards on atomizers...
(as long as it has airflow, I can vape it).

:)

Regulated - it is, but it isn't. I'm not sure if there's circuitry in there that caps it at 60W, but that's a number I've seen thrown around. It's "mechanical" from the standpoint that you can't adjust output voltage. I usually run 0.5-1.0 on my RDAs, and I sport Sammy R25s or LG HEs rated at 20A. So, like a mechanical, the vape quality will lessen as the battery drains. No biggie in my book.

pssssssst, try it, you'll like it ;)

Thank you @DingerCPA

Capped is clearly the case, as Phil got just a bit over 60w with a fresh battery.

(A 0.2ohm coil with a fresh 18650 would be way above that. )

Anyway, you've given me the 'clues' I need to purchase. If you're running 0.5, then I think that's my kind of numbers, and time for some 1.5mg juice hunting. :)

I'll be using super banana LGs (HE) or possibly something new and higher mAh.

It's not truly a regulated mod, it cuts off around .12 ohms as a short circuit protection, and cuts of when the battery gets low on voltage, I forget the number, sorry.
It is set by the build, higher load, more watts, lower build, less watts.
Read this thread, the last five or so pages are the best, dripbox
I've found that if you build the coils high, even with the tops of the grub screws, and toward the outside, closer to the air holes, it changes the atty completely. Getting air to flow around the coils greatly increases flavor and drops the heat factor and spit back. I've got a .9 ohm build on it, but I'm going to drop it a bit more, seems for me at least, a .7-.8 build really shines on the stock atty.

Learning to use your equipment can be frustrating. You don't indicate where you are living. If in a U.S. metropolitan area, go to a vape shop with your gear and get a class when they are not busy.

As a new vaper, I read every day, and still do. Cigarettes were MADE to be simple. Vaping is a huge, big, world, but it does not require us to learn it all, just what we need to learn for our vaping.

Keep going, find a local that vapes also, have fun with the hobby. It does a body good. :)
