Found this forum while doing my continued research on e-cigs. I'm am currently over three weeks smoke free thanks to e-cigs. I currently own the blu e-cig, but I'm looking to improve my experience.

From what I understand so far, the best battery to get for a noobie is a eGo Twist. But that is about as much as I know. I don't know what atomizer and/or cartomizer to get. I don't know what vapers are talking about when it comes to voltage, etc, etc...

The blu e-cig is working just fine, but I need something with more life and variety in flavors.

welcome to the forums, :)

I'm new also, waiting for my first vapemail to arrive.

Following the advice of this great forums members, I chose a couple twists, and went with a variety of delivery devices ie. a couple clearomizers, regular 510 cartomizers, a vivinova, and finally a standard 510 atomizer w/ a drip tip.

I'll just try them all and see what works for me :)

Welcome to ECF !

An eGo twist or eGo-c 1000 mah kit is just the ticket to your satisfaction.
You get two complete units, so you will never be let down from Vapping.
EGos are simple to fill and use, easy to carry day to day- and provide enough vapor to satisfy any smoker.
Then, you just need some good juices, and you are on your way !

We all wish you the Best !!!

Well done to three weeks and welcome.

An Ego is a good starting point. I have three and am not willing to move on yet as I love them so much.

I use clearomisers that you just fill (one fill lasts me a day) and go.

Voltage etc etc? The voltage of your battery needs to be matched with the resistance of your coil (the thing that vaporises your liquid) in order to get the best vapor. Too high a voltage burns and too low means no vapor.

Stick around. There's oodles stuff to learn here.

So what do I need exaclty? I know I need a battery, obviously. lol But then do I just get a cartomizer with an included drip tip? And I was thinking of sticking with Johnson Creek E-Juice, since it's the same as blu uses.

And once I get all this, is it pretty easy to fill? And do I need several different cartomizers if I want to try different flavors?

Hi!
Glad to hear you made the switch from manuals.
If you're willing to make your next step big, and have around 100 $ to spare, you may wanna go my way, see below. If you'd rather spend less for now, kindly omit the suggestion below, I tried ego twists as well, and they're very good, certainly worth a switch from Blu's.

I was at the same position about 2 months ago (planning to switch from blus to a better alternative), and being an extremely heavy smoker/vaper, decided to spend some money and get a major update that would get me going for a long time, after researching e-cigarette-forum extensively, found out getting a VAMO and the necessary accessories would be a logical next step, purchased a VAMO (59$), and 18650 button-top battery, a 5$ charger, a Smoktank XL tank, some 5 ml flavor varieties and couple of 510 XL cartomizers (altogether about an additional 40$, making the total expenditure slightly over 100 bucks), all at Smoktek.com. (The latter is considered a well-respected vendor on the forums, for good reason, but of course there are other reliable vendors offering the same setup for a similar price) , I couldn't have been happier with my choice.

Since that purchase, I tried out flavors from various vendors, and ordered another couple of cartos.
I'm satisfied with the device in every respect, and am not planning to get a new one anytime soon.
(Blu is a decent brand and a good place to start, but the difference in vaping satisfaction switching to the VAMO made literally blew my mind)

My motto is keep it simple. Get 2 twists and a charger. Get some cartomizers and use them for different flavors. That could get you started and then eventually get clearomizers, tanks, etc. Buy some good juice.....Mt. Baker is cheap and very good. Welcome and good luck. Depending on how heavy a smoker you were...consider the amount of nic you will need...a heavy smoker would use 24 to 18 mg and a lighter smoker would use less.....any questions just ask.

I completely agree with this post. It's exactly what I did when I started vaping.

An eGo-Twist is a safe choice because you can adjust the voltage to accommodate a variety of differently ohmed attachments.

If you want hours of uninterrupted vaping think of getting a clearomizer tank. Vivi Novas are reliable and often recommended.

Oh, and pleased to have you here :toast:

So is this all I would need to start out with, eGo Twist with a Vivi Nova clearomizer tank? And it appears that I would need a few different tanks for different flavors?

And BTW, thanks everyone for the help. Just like when I started online gaming years and years ago, I knew I could find a friendly place excited to help new people out.

I recommend 2 batteries - one in use one for backup. I just use 1 Vivi Nova and clean it when I switch flavors - but I'm not a flavor junkie - you may want more.

That was my next question. How easy is it to clean and how long do they last? Am I correct that the coils or something inside them eventually breaks down?
