Hello everyone.
I stumbled upon a video of the Green Smoke on YouTube a couple days ago and it got me interested in vaping. I've tried vaping once before using a disposable Gamucci that I picked up at a gas station, but I was not satisfied with it whatsoever because it produced nearly no vapor and had no throat-hit. However, the Green Smoke looked like a much more satisfying experience and so I want to give vaping another go. After checking out some more reviews on the Green Smoke I was almost comitted to buying one until I came across this site. I've spent the past couple reading posts with the most helpful being those in the ECF library. I've already learned more about vaping than I ever imagined I would and I haven't even started! Now that I understand the vaping process and have become familiar with a few of the products available, I need to decide what hardware to get.
Researching all the various options is time consuming. While I would love to spend the next week looking over them all, I'm too excited to get started vaping now. I'm sure that some of you experienced vapers will be able to help me faster than I can help myself.
So here's what I would like to have in my first PV:
1) A good amount of vapor. I am not sure how much of a factor the actual hardware is in producing vapor. I understand the amount of VG in the juice plays a role, and that is something I can experiment with. If the device does matter, I want one that produces a lot of vapor but not too much. If it's comparable to the amount of smoke that comes from a cigarette that would be great.
2) Throat-hit at about the same level of a real cigarette. I smoke Basic Menthols if that helps. I know the nicotine level can play a role in this but I guess hardware does too.
3) Easy draw like a real cigarette. Not the thick milkshake kind.
4) Manual switch.
5) Flexible for modifications.
Right now I'm looking at getting a Joye 510 kit from Cignot because I've heard a lot of good things about it. I want something that is high quality but not going to break the bank. I also want to get a USB passthrough and possibly a battery/voltage mod of some sort if I can manage to squeeze that into my budget. I would like to get everything for under $150-200 but I can stretch the budget a little if the reason for doing so is justified.
My first question is about what makes a model like the 510 a 510. I'm assuming its the atomizer, right? That would mean that if I use a different battery and cartridge I would still call my PV a 510.
My second question actually led me to ask the first. I notice that some PV's use a cartridge that has a whistle tip. The Joye 510's cartridges are just the round kind but I think I would prefer the whistle tip. Can I get different whistle tip cartridges for a 510 and if so, where would I get them and how can I be sure they are compatible?
I'm not too sure how well you can mix & match different parts of PVs or how often people even do. But if it is possible I would like a PV that is flexible so that if I wish to do some upgrades to it I will have options available.
Finally, I noticed that companies other than Joye sell the 510. Are all these the same quality? If I do get a 510, which one should I get?
