Hi Dee, Welcome to ECF and vaping. Congrats on making the decision to quit smoking. stick with it and you will. I smoked from 18-43, just quit a few months ago on my birthday. Picked up an Evod and some juice flavors and haven't looked back since. The first few days is the worst but you'll be just fine after that.

Remember to drink a lot of water.

Hi Dee! I am also fairly new to ECF. I lurked around for a few months prior to registering for an account. So glad I did! There is nothing like needing sound advice & having an experienced vaping friend on ECF to help us! :)

Congrats on getting your starter kit. I do want to let you know that it seems to be perfectly normal to still crave a real cigarette for the first few weeks. I remember when I got my first set-up (a kanger mini protank 3 & a vision spinner II) I would get a phone call and head straight out to the garage to smoke. I would often feel guilty after I smoked though. So... It was about 1 1/2 weeks in and I challenged myself to only have 1-2 a day. Then down to 1, then after about 2 weeks... None. Everyone is different though. My advice would be to try something similar, something that you feel would work for you.

Again... HUGE CONGRATS!

:p

Hello Dee and welcome to the ECF family. Well done on giving up the stinky sticks. If you're having really bad cravings for analogs try upping your nicotine level or chain vaping for a while. If you have to have a cigarette don't beat yourself up about it. Lots of people duel use for a while. So count the cigs you don't have not the ones you do.

Good luck and happy vaping. :)

Dee. Welcome :)

Without going into too much detail, I would suggest you look into a different type of e-cigarette as soon as possible.

Nicolites are expensive and rubbish. I used E-Lites and thought they would work for me. They didn't work though and I had Nicotine cravings, mood swings, and never got even close to stopping smoking with them.

They might work for you, but don't expect the road to be easy... what they claim to offer the user is lies, made up to sell you a product. Each refill says it does 200 puffs, but that's not 20 cigarettes in NICOTINE, so unless you were a light smoker, you might hit a brick wall soon.

IF that happens, please, please do not do what I did and buy more and more batteries and refills. That is not the answer. All the supermarket e-cigs (E-Lites, 10 motives, Nicolites, Vuse, Vype, Njoy) are all unnecessarily expensive to run and won't work for anything but the lightest of smokers.

I don't expect you to believe me, and that suits me fine, because if you run into trouble a few days/weeks down the line and start asking "why am I still craving cigarettes and why do I feel so terrible" then you'll remember my post. :)

I am from Surrey. I started at 15 y.o. I smoked for 25 years. Not had a cigarette since joining here back in 2012.

Hi Dee, and welcome.

Although you are still vaping nicotine, there are many other chemicals in cigarettes which add to the addiction. It may well be those that you are still craving. You will get there though.

Vaping is great, but the cigalikes are often an expensive alternative and not powerful enough. If you find they're not working for you, you might look into more of a pen-style kit such as an Evod starter kit. They come with a refillable topper, and you buy the liquids separately. There are many options and you have come to the best place to ask for advice.

Having run the gamut of devices myself I have to say that if I could go back to day 1 and start fresh with new equipment I would get the Eleaf iStick, Aspire Nautilus with bottom vertical coils (BVC), and some 12 - 18 mg liquid. Of course these devices weren't available then and with the rate advances are happening in the vaping world even this post will soon be dated. However I do feel for the new vaper this combination would offer the greatest chances for success and enjoyment at a reasonable price.

Welcome to the forum and I wish you luck...you'll find plenty of help here.

Hey, Dee! :) I got off a 53 yr habit quickly by starting on the iTaste MVP. I chose it over it's little brother the iTase vv merely because of battery time because I was a chain smoker. The MVP 2 should be gotten pretty inexpensively now since the new model MVP20 watts has just come out. The Nautilus tank with the bottom vertical coil (BVC) is a very good suggestion.

Congratulations, Dee, for a step in the right direction. One of which is joining ECF. You're gonna have fun!

to ecf Dee Belcher. So glad to have you here and a big congrats on vaping. Isn't it wonderful? I don't know how heavy a smoker you were but it could all be a matter on increasing your nic to help with the urge. But let's face it, it is hard to give up something that you have enjoyed for so many years. Just be patient and give it some time. ECF is a wonderful place to find so much information but it is also a huge support group that you have joined. We are all in your corner and wish you all the luck in the world. Look forward to reading more about you and your successful vaping.

Hi, I'm Dee and have been a smoker since I was 12! I'm now 45... So yesterday I bought a nicolites starter kit and am puffing away! Really hoping to transition completely from analogs to vaping but I'm still craving a ciggie at times! Anyway, that's me, nice to meet you all!

Welcome to ECF Dee, make yourself right at home! :)
