Hello community!
Swedish dude here ( so sorry for the weird english at times) , new to vaping, new to this forum but i have been reading a bit here and there.
Anyways, 3 days ago i got my first vaping stuff, did smoke 1-1.5 pack a day of analogs before that.
I bought a 1300mah Vision spinner and a Nautilus aspire plus some juice and replacement coils (right thing to say?!).
(no manual for the battery, took a while to figure out how to turn it on since i had no internet at that time :p)

So i got some troubles:
1. It doesnt really taste good, and im wondering why. The first few puffs/whatever u wanna call it/ i took were terrible, and i mean truly terrible. I would describe it as burnt plastic. Then it tasted okej for a little while, i switched the head when it got bad again and now i really don't know if it still tastes crap or if i just have gotten used to it.

This occured with every flavor i tried out of the 3.
All Juices are from EnJuice and 80PG/20VG (been reading about what the difference is) or something like that.
I really don't know if it's the juices or if i am completely doing something wrong or whatever.
Ordered some juice from Hangsen which is 80VG/20PG and that will arrive in a few days.
I really hope it's the juice otherwise i might cry.
Any other advice on what causes the bad taste would be appreciated :)

2.I get a peppery taste in my mouth when i vape. I have been reading about this and apparently it's the nicotine ?!
3. People say the exhaled vapor smells like catpiss. WHAT THE HELL?!
4. Some gurgling occurs and i don't really get much vapor from my Nautilus besides when i chainvape and it get's kinda warm around the battery area.

So yeah, not so great start maybe. I got one thing going for the vaping and that's that ciggarettes taste like death itself since i have startet my "vaping" (or whatever u might call it at this time) and i havent smoked in 3 days.

Help is appreciated :)

I've not actually used the Nautilus myself so can't really give any advice about it. But what I will say, is that I always clean out any new tank before I first use it, they generally still have traces of machine oil in them from the manufacturing process. This can make the juice taste awful at first. Give the tank a good clean with warm soapy water and give them a scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse them out well or leave them to soak overnight in clean water. Give them a good dry and vape away. Some people use cheap vodka to clean out new tanks. I've even used vinegar myself on a couple of tanks that were heavily gunked up on arrival.

Even if the tank looks clean, it's still good practice to clean them out first.

I suspect it's the juice. Sounds like it needs steeping (that is, to be left sitting for a couple of weeks). Don't throw it away, even when your new juice arrives. It may very well taste great given some time.

Some juices, from some suppliers, require this process, while others don't. I have tried some flavors "fresh from the mailbox" that did indeed smell just like cat urine, but that turned out to be quite good after a few weeks.

Good luck with it!

+1 for troubles post. If your getting a burnt taste sounds like your voltage is to high or your taking an extra long hit. the longer you draw the more the coil heats and eventually it burns your juice. Try going to the lowest setting taste adjust taste adjust till you find your happy spot then work on the draw if your not getting enough vapor turn your voltage up a tad till you get what you like. if to much turn down a tad Good luck This is why I VV and VW devices I can work both aspects without having to do it on one feature

Hi everybody and thank you for all the advice!
I just cleaned my tank today since i didnt want my disgusting strawberry juice to taste disgusting menthol :))))
That didn't help at all.

I let the tank sit for about 30 mins everytime refilled it and I tried taking hits without pressing the button to get the juice to flow but that didnt help either.

I red some about steeping, seems like I will give it a go. The only major problem I have is that I in that case have nothing to vape for some time... :)

I experimented some with the spinner and i have it set between 3.8 and 4.3 most of the time.

I'll try to keep up with my answers, THANKS everybody for the advice!

I think it might be that I'm sensitive to the PG?
I really don't know. I hope the 80/VG juice that comes from another brand fixes my problem. Otherwise i might quit this and sell my stuff to a buddy.
:/

Edit: I just realized the iching sensation in my face ive had for a few days comes from the vaping, seems not good for me.

The main thing is not to give up. Getting off the smokes is worth it. It is hard to diagnose what might be wrong, because it could be many things. All the advice has been spot on, it could be one or more of those issues. It might be worthwhile to try to find a vape shop close by, where someone can set you up with a really straightforward simple rig and some 100% VG juice. Once you're vaping comfortably, you can work on getting your original gear working properly. Good luck, don't give up!

I really don't want to give up, it's just annoying that stuff isn't working out as intended... I was searching for a vape shop close by before i bought my gear from the internet, the thing is i live in a small town and the nearest place where there is a vape shop is 150 km away... woho, i got no car btw! :(

I will probably just keep on trying out your advice and hope for the best. VG juice is my hope on the horizon atm.
Thanks for everything! :)

I really feel like decent but inexpensive top coil clearomizers with the long wicks hanging down are best and easiest for just beginning -- these iClear 16s, for example. These make it easy to view what's happening, they work pretty reliably (like you won't be getting dry hits if you have enough eliquid in there, and it's had a few minutes to absorb the juice), and they aren't complicated. If you are starting with a new head, and you don't have your VV battery turned way up, and the wicks have pulled juice up to the atomizer (happens relatively fast), you're not going to be getting any weird taste that's not just the taste of the juice itself. So that gives you a baseline on what the juice basically really tastes like (as opposed to wondering if there's something wrong with the tank or coils), and makes it a lot easier to understand later, with a bottom coil clearomizer or glassomizer, if there's just a problem with dry hits and/or burnt wicks.

A lot of people, including my husband, prefer to stick with the top coil clearomizers even after they become more experienced, but either way, I think it's a good primary grounding step and pretty satisfying and non-fussy for starting out. Good luck with all of it!

Definately dial down voltage and watts if equiped. Let juice sit in unit for at least 5-10 minutes before firing. If a dry hit has been taken, could have burned the wicking material some. Make sure juice doesn't run dry also. If you ask anyone who has had a unit flood and ended up with juice in their mouth, you can tell from taste of juice what its like (except strong). Maybe even a little smear on your finger and taste to verify. Maybe have drink ready too.

Im bumping this up to give u all an update u maybe won't see.
I bought myself a mini protank 2 AND HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.
Night and day.
I can actually taste the menthol in my menthol juice now. My strawberrymilkshake still tastes like crap tho :p

Edit: Actually my menthol is bananas. Non of my juices taste as much as that. But i guess that's how it is with menthol.
Im gonna try to get my hands on some premium juice just to see if my non menthol juices are crap. :) Thanks everybody for the advise and help.
Seeing forward to contributing on this forum :)

I work at Dr. Vape It in Panama City, Florida. We sale the vision spinners in store and we have a lot of customers coming in saying the same thing. On the bottom of the spinner you have a dial that goes from 3.0 to 4.8 volts. You might have the voltage to high. What we tell people is when using a new coil/tank to start out in a lower voltage and work your way up to a higher voltage. This allows the coil to get wet enough to work properly. Try it out and let me know if you have anymore question.
