I have been smoking for 15 years, about 5 to 10 cigarettes a day. After many failed attempts to quit, I tried again and decided to try blucigs based on the TV commercial. I bought a disposable at the gas station for $10. I like it, and haven't had a tobacco cigarette in three days, but I have been through 4 blu disposables! I guess that's more than I normally smoke but I guess it was the novelty factor of puffing the blu. Anyway, I have done some research on here and although its a bit overwhelming, I decided to go with an Ego Kit. I usually order cheap electronics on a website that I noticed have many vaping accessories and ecigs, including the ego, but the prices are way cheaper than USA vendors. Are the ecigs sold by the vendors here the same thing, made in China, or are they American made hardware? Here is the what I want to order, Is it better to use a USA vendor, and is there a difference in the product, since the ones the USA vendors sell are probably made in China anyway. BTW I am in no way affiliated with this website, I just wanted your opinions. Thanks Guys! EGO KS-90D 900mAh Electronic Cigarette with USB Charger (Black Atomizer Cone) - WorldWide Free Shipping

Congratulations on your quitting attempt, and great choice on the eGo as a starter unit!

With regard to your question, the photo on that page shows the genuine eGo battery, and claims the same in the description, so it *should* be identical to what you would buy in a US store.

With that said, you may find that when it arrives that logo is nowhere to be found. It could also possibly be stamped on the battery but not on the metal portions with "Joyetech" which is usually the telltale giveaway for a counterfeit.

Either way, with this level of device, there's not gonna be a huge difference. The buttons may be cheaper, fall out, etc...who cares - it was $10.

I would be slightly more concerned about the clearomizer that is bolted on there (the tank). To me, it doesn't look like the official eGo atomizer cone I am familiar with, and I usually am slightly afraid at trusting the chinese with the part of the ecig that causes the "combustion." Strange materials used as coil / wick / tank plastic / etc. are what I would be afraid of. No telling if the metals / plastics used are truly safe, as it looks unlabeled.

If I were you, I might sample it for a while, but quickly change to a US made clearomizer / cartomizer / atomizer setup like the Cisco. Better yet - if you feel slightly technically inclined, the sooner you get into RBAs the better - you can source all of your own materials!

Good luck, and do come back if you have more questions!

Joyetech is a Chinese company, and electronic cigarettes are a Chinese invention. Most American made e-cigarettes are mods, such as the Provari, Darwin, Silver Bullet, and Buzz Pro; however, those products will still have Chinese components. Buying from an American company will definitely lead to faster shipping. There are so many knock-offs and clones out there, and I don't personally worry about it. It doesn't really matter where you order from as long as you are happy with their customer service. In regards to shipping and support, I would personally buy American. Some prefer to order from overseas because of the price difference.

As for Blu, you aren't really getting the equivalent of 2 packs ( which is what I think they advertise on their packages.) It's more like less than half of a pack.

Congrats on switching and welcome to ECF : )

A genuine Joyetech atomizer, cartomizer, or clearomizer is made in China, as are almost all non-Joyetech ones.

and rba is rebuildable atomizer so instead of buying a new atomizer when it craps out you can just rebuild it. There are different versions though you have genesis style, you have dripping rba's and even vivi novas can be rebuilt I'm sure I'm missing some but this should give you a very quick Idea
Thanks but I am a bit confused and overwhelmed with options and differences in ecigs. Should I cancel the ego order and get one of these ones instead? Are they better than the ego?

Definitely do not cancel your order. The RBA's are more advanced and something to consider getting into later. There are certainly advantages to them, but take some research and a lot of fiddling to get them right. If you are just starting out, keep it simple. The ego set-up is perfect for starters, and where most of us started. Keep reading, get to know and understand the lingo. Ask a lot of questions.

I spent an awful lot of money on kits that looked like a cigarette before finally getting an ego set-up. If I had known then what I know now, I would have started with an ego. Get comfortable with that and go from there.

Congratulations on quitting the stinky's!!!

Thanks for all the info guys. i have another question. It seems like you guys have some large serious stainless steel shiny devices. Do you have a small portable one just for going out to dinner or bars etc..? I'm sure one of these larger setups might be cumbersome to carry in your pocket. Also they might be mistaken for something else. i dont want people to think im taking some illegal drug.

here is a pic I posted on pics of your set up (didn't feel like taking another pic as this is a good size comparison) but on your right is what I'm gonna use as my everday set up its a 14500 battery hybrid genesis mod called the vaper the other two mods are your standard 18xxx size battery mods.

I use a large mod at home, work, and in most places, including while driving, but if I am going to be vaping in a public area such as fairgrounds or a theater, I use a cigar-sized (eGo-style) one. I would rather be seen with the cigar-sized one with no LED than be seen with a cig-a-like that makes people think I am actually smoking. Other people are comfortable using large mods everywhere. Other people are perfectly happy with cig-a-likes.

I noticed that when enlarging the pictures there is NO Joyetech stamp on the bottom of the Battery.... hmmmm, wonder if...

I use priceangels myself. You can get both knockoffs and the real deal on the batteries. That one should be the eGo (joytech) battery. (eGo - T-C what ever, doesn't matter for just the battery, all the same) Now, the clearomizer that is going to come with it, I can't say.. You may like it or not, it may work or not... you're going to be on a learning curve there...

Right, I should have clarified that I don't feel comfortable trusting to "unknown Chinese manufacturers."

The Joyetech line is a well vetted product and they'd have a lot to lose in the worldwide market to tarnish their name with dangerous source materials. I trust them more than your average Chinese manufacturer.

Regarding the ego that you go for $10, if it is a real ego, I want to say you do get what you pay for, but do let us know if that is a real ego, as that's an amazing price even if you have to wait 2 weeks for it.
Ill take pics of the ego when i get it. You guys can give me more info. On a good note, I just found all my ash trays and lighters and about five packs of analogs in my car and house and threw them all in the trash and took the trash out. At first i thought "Hmm thats about $50 bucks worth of smokes, but then again that is nothing to pay for my health and a change of life. Im finally leaving smoking analogs forever and it feels great. I have tried the patch and gums, but nothing satisfied the actual puffing of smoke. hopefully vaping is going to help me quit for good!
