Hello everyone. Today I decided to make my first e-cig purchase. I decided I want a small, automatic, on-the-go backup PV that uses a PCC, and a larger, manual, primary PV.

For the small, I narrowed the choice down to 3 models, and weighed the pros and cons. The 3 options were
1)M403
2)Joye 306
3)KR-808D-1(specifically from Smokeless Image.)

I decided having the smallest size possible was the most important to me (I do a lot of stuff throughout the day that requires both of my hands, and I'm used to hanging my cig out of my mouth.) So I went with the M403 Auto.

Now I'm in the process of picking out my larger version and having a tough time figuring out all the variables. I'm looking at the following models right now, but when I say that I'm "looking at them", what I really mean is I'm trying to fully understand all the differences between them. Any tips are appreciated. :)

1)eGo-T
2)ego-C
3)Go-Go

And basically all the variants of the above. iGo, kGo, Riva, Echo. I'm having a hard time understanding which of these are actually different things from one another.

What I DO KNOW, is that I would like my large e-cig to...
1)have a tank system (I don't know if this inheriently exludes cartomizers?? Also not sure what the difference between cartomizers and clearomizers is?)
2)have a large battery. most likely 1300mAh.
3)produce a TH fairly close to that of a real cig. (i believe this means I'll want LR?)
4)afford me the ability to customize and experiment later down the road.

Thanks again, and hello to everyone at ECF! :)

Silven let me first say Hello and Welcome to ECF, I've seen people recomend the Smokeless Image,as for the bigger battery I have a KGO and am pleased with it.Now the difference in a clearomizer is the fluid is in a sort of tank, and has a wick with the coil wrapped around it.I use them often, and work great with the KGO.

Welcome to ecf! I've heard wonderful things about the KGO. They weren't available when I first started vaping so I really don't have any first hand experience with them, but they seem pretty popular. As far as the eGo is concerned, I would probably bypass the egos with a letter after them. You would probably do just as well to purchase a plain ego kit (like this) and supplement it with clearomizers or smoketech carto tanks. I've heard too many people complaining about the ego-T leaking. I also did not have a real good experience with the go-go. I may have gotten a dud, but I the one I tried frequently would not fire. They may have made some improvements since then, but I would definitely do a little research before purchasing one.

I have the eGo-C model and love it, as do many others. The eGo-T was its predecessor and have read of many leaking issues.

A tanked system as you put it is simply a cartomizer with a hole punched in it, and surrounded by a plastic, pyrex, or glass tank to hold liquid. For an eGo size battery, I would strongly recommend using a clearomizer instead.

The eGo-C model is a cartridge system, though the cartridges are called tanks as well.

If I had it to do over again from scratch, this is what I would get:

1) 2x KGO Batteries (hoosierecigsupply.com)
2) eGo-C "Upgrade Kit" (americaneliquidstore.com) which includes 2x base, 2x cone, cartridges and 5x atomizer
3) CE4 Clearomizer (myfreedomsmokes.com)
4) A few syringes+needles for filling..
5) A few atomizers - great for direct dripping, tasting new flavors, just all around good to have...

The M403 is 510 threaded, so you'll be able to interchange cartomizers between the two.

So you're saying instead of buying an eGo-T, I can essentially make the same exact thing by just buying an eGo, taking the atomizer out, and using a clearomizer instead??

I also did not have a real good experience with the go-go. I may have gotten a dud, but I the one I tried frequently would not fire. They may have made some improvements since then, but I would definitely do a little research before purchasing one.

I don't think I actually need to much worry about buying a Go-Go, because I've only found 3 sites that sell them, and every one of them were out of stock. Starting to wonder if they are even made anymore. lol

The eGo and other similar devices, such as the kgo, are 510 threaded. the 510 battery has the female portion of the threads and the attachments such as the atomizers, clearomizers and cartomizers have the male portion of the 510 threading allowing you a wider range of customization options.

I have to weigh in for the kgo as it is a true 3.7v device and has the larger 1100 mAh capacity whereas the Joye brand eGo is regulated at 3.4v and I don't believe they have released a battery with a capacity over 650 mAh yet, but I could be mistaken on that.

HI and welcome! Awesome avatar, btw.

Haha, thanks! It's a pretty common look on my face. My friends tell some pretty stupid stories.

Ya after doing some further research, I'm really starting to lean towards the kGo as well. Could I ask for everyones combined knowledge on where to find and buy these? I would like to do some comparision shopping and make sure I get a solid deal for the kit.

After that, then it's just a matter of testing which combinations of atomizers/cartomizers/clearomizers and Juice I like best.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes and the advice. I ended up going with the kGo from Hoosier, and bought several different combinations of cartridge+LR Atomizer, standard carto, LR carto, LR dual coil, LR dual coil 5ml tank, etc etc to try them all out and see which I like best.

I also bought some juice from Hoosier and some others from Mountain Vapor, as a friend recommended their juice as a good one. I can't wait to get all my goodies in the mail this week! :D

Thanks again to the entire ECF, I couldn't have made an informed decision without it. :)
