Hey all!
New to the forums (posting wise, I've been reading for a few weeks now) and thought I'd do a little "intro" post.
I've been a smoker for about 10 years now. Started off with a few a day, and gradually increased to a half pack to full pack per day for the past 6 years or so. I always enjoyed smoking. The physical act of smoking, the social aspect, everything. I had no desire to quit at all. I live in Minnesota, and on July 1 we got slapped with another $1.60/pack tax hike, which in turn caused my beloved Marlboro Lights to hit $7.40/pack.
Towards the beginning of June knowing that the impending tax hike was right around the corner, I started watching Youtube videos and reading threads here on ECF and got pretty serious about the notion of vaping. I loved my Marlboro Lights, but didn't love them enough to fork over $7.40/pack and knew I had to figure something out. Both my roommates and most of my friends had quit analogs in the past 6 months to a year, so it was a dying trend in my "social circle".
A week ago I received my EVOD 650/mAh battery, Kanger T2 clearo, and my grape juice from Mt. Baker Vapor. I haven't looked back. Though I've only been analog free for 4 full days since July 1, I have no desire to pick another one up. I had a pack with 4 or 5 left in it and they went straight into the trash. Earlier today I just placed an order for some cartomizers and 3 new juices, and I'm as excited as ever. I plan on buying my first VV unit in the coming weeks and look forward to getting into larger/more advanced mods as time goes on. I've always been a "tech" nerd so to speak, and now I am able combine my interest in electronics and my new found love for vaping into a full blown hobby.
I've even "converted" my friend and smoking buddy at work to vaping, and she's super excited as well. It makes the whole experience that much easier and that much more fun having someone else along for the ride with you.
I just want to thank everyone here on ECF as well as everyone on Youtube for providing such wonderful information, and giving me that extra "push" I needed to take the leap into vaping.
