Udit, can I just say (and others will be along) that you may not want to start vaping at 120 W if you are at 4--5 cigarettes per week, just because it looks like you want to jump straight into sub-ohming which would be fine, certainly, and I'm glad you are worried about your battery safety, but that's a LOT OF WARM/HOT vape right there, and I'm assuming you'll be wanting at least some nicotine in your vape? If you want to go to 0 nic, then maybe that might work?

But starting out with those target numbers I am concerned that you might easily O'D on nicotine in just a few puffs, and also, you are getting something pretty advanced when something smaller/lighter/less expensive and more like smoking (mouth-to-lung rather than direct-to-lung) might fit you better to start?

You can check out Mooch's blog on battery safety to determine what batterie(s) you might need, but ah, I am just a bit concerned that you might be overdoing it on the vape, to start.

I have never vaped over 50 watts in my life, and I was a 3 ppd smoker. I prefer hanging out in the 8--12 watt range.

That said, if this is your plan, far be it from me to dissuade you, but do look at the pinned threads on nicotine o/d sx vs. cigarette w/d sx, in the new members forum, so that if your vape is a bit much, you'll be able to identify what's going on.

Best of luck,

Anna

Thank you for your reply Anna, I never wanted to use my vape at 120W constantly but just wanted to know which batteries would be enough to draw out that wattage if I ever. I would be keeping my sweet spot at around 30-50W and rarely going above that. Also I was going for 0 nicotine, can I start from 0 from the beginning? Also I don’t know what sub-ohming is, maybe anyone can tell me abou this?

Yes, you can start with 0 nic, that would probably be wise. Sub-ohming has more to do with your tank/coils, if their resistance is lower than 1.0, they tend to be a more cloudy, direct lung inhale, rather than a thinner, higher resistance coil which is typically used for MTL tanks to more closely mimic the smoking experience. I imagine you could use either type of tank and see what you like, but if you are going for clouds, you'd be more likely to use a lower resistance coil. Your question makes a lot more sense to me now, but in any case re: the batteries, this blog should get you started in the right direction:

Hey everyone!
I am smoking cigarettes for 2 years now and want to get rid of it. I still actually don’t smoke a lot(only 3-4 per week) but still want to get rid of them completely. I am thinking to buy Wismec Predator 228 next week. Can anyone recommend me what batteries should I buy if want to smoke at max around 120W?
Welcome and glad you joined.

Hi Udit & welcome
Smoking 3-4 cigs a week is not smoking it is just dabbling and you are not in any way hooked as yet. Best bet would be to stop smoking and don't take up vaping. Breath clean instead.

But if you insist, the brown LGHG2's are the most popular. Any 20 to 25 amp battery will do as long as it is a real one. By that I mean Sony's or LG's etc and not any of the off brands. Most important is where you buy them as the market is overrun by rewraps and fakes. I buy from Liion Wholesale but there are others that folks will recommend. Just don't buy them from Ebay or Amazon otherwise you are pretty much guaranteed not to get the real thing. Stay away from the 30, 35, 40, and 50 amp offerings because most are not real. The few lower amp ones that are real have sacrificed run time for amperage which you don't want.
