Hi. I just joined on Tues, and ordered my 510 the same day. Thanks to the members here, I knew I should order a few extras with my starter kit - empty carts, a USB thingy, juice, extra batteries, etc. Well, today, I got home from errands and feeding the stray cats and checked the mail box. My PV had arrived! I went inside, blew the primer fluid from the atty, put a couple drops on the atty itself, hooked everything up, and took a hit. Wonderful! I took another few hits - Just as good. I started making dinner (lasagna if you're interested), and then took a couple more hits. These really didn't cut it; no vapor, no taste, no TH, no anything except sort of hot chemically air. I was pretty disappointed. Once the sauce was simmering, I sat down and went through everything I got. Sorting everything out, I found five loaded carts that came with the starter kit, four empty carts, and one empty wrapper with EMPTY printed on it - in my (typical) rush to do something I really want to do (in this case, vape), I had snapped an empty cart on the atty and battery, and had been not so happily puffing away on an empty tube full of polyfill. So, anyway, if you're like me, and tend to get so excited about things you don't keep an eye on what you're doing, when you get your PV, take a minute to make sure you're using all the right parts and connecting everything properly. :) As a side note, this is typical of me; I once melted the wiring harness of our car in my rush to put in a new battery - I hooked the negative lead to the positive terminal, and the positive lead to the negative terminal. PS - once I got all the right parts in the right places, vaping was as wonderful as I had imagined it would be. ----- "Society is like a stew. I love your stew thing it's great. I had alot of stupid things I did when I first got my 510. Your just so anxious and it seems like you've been waiting for 2 yrs for the thing to get delivered that you just go at it. almost like when your really deep in the water frantically swimming to the top as soon as you get there the only thing on your mind is breathe. We've all made the day one mistakes. have a nice day.

So, what do you think of it now that you're using it correctly?

I love it! It'll even more enjoyable once I get more comfortable with the whole, uh, not sure of the word, gestalt(?) of the thing - things like knowing when I've had a cigarette's worth of nicotine, being comfortable with keeping carts filled and batteries charged, once I find out how to make/where to get cinnamon flavored juice, and also, maybe weirdly, get over the initial excitement - while I of course like being excited, as I've gotten older, I appreciate more just feeling relaxed and sure of how things are flowing. The thing I really look forward to is being at work, coding away, and just taking some puffs, drinking some tea, and going on with the day, rather than having to go outside, light an analogue, smoke it despite hating the way it feels, then coming back in and trying to get back in the rythym of whatever I was working on.

PS - I really appreciate this forum and all the info you all have provided!

Just want to let you know - you are not alone. I remember the first one I tried, I didn't realize the cart on the atty was an empty! Took me a whole day to figure out where I was going wrong :p

There's actually a video review of one type of e-cig where the reviewer makes this mistake. Apparently it's not uncommon.

My 510 is fine, other than having to charge the battery every hour. The passthrough, is that an option instead of paying $100 for a batt mod? I'm thinking it is as long as you stay by a power source. I'm getting sick of constantly charging up little batteries that don't last long even when they are fully charged.

If you can stay by a power source then the PT is heavenly. Get a USB/AC adapter plug (no need to risk your PC) and vape on!
