What are you waiting for in the mail? Why don't you go to a local B&M?

I ordered some 808 cigalike batteries and blank cartos from Smokeless Image, a small bottle of tobacco flavored juice from Virgin Vapor (got that already--smells nice), and some bottles half liter bottles of unflavored juice from Wizard Labs. I didn't go to a B&M because I do most of my non-routine shopping online, and didn't really feel like going into a head shop (the only places around me that I would guess have vaping gear).

I don't really see myself getting into all the flavors, it seems kind of silly to me. I didn't smoke cigarettes for the flavor--I smoke(ed) American Spirits because of their clean, almost nonexistent taste. My main concern about vaping is the long term health effects, so I'd like to try to minimize those by only inhaling nicotine and PG/VG instead of all kinds of questionable chemical flavorants.

BTW, my latest NJOY King died this morning, and I refused to shell out another 9 bucks for one, so I had one of my real cigarettes. Even after only three days of not smoking, I could see a huge difference--I got a 'first cigarette ever' kind of head rush, and the burning paper/tobacco taste was a little weird. Now, I love the smell of burning good cigarettes (i.e. American Spirits or Nat Shermans), but i was surprised at how quickly the taste had become kind of 'off' to me. I suppose I'll keep smoking my Spirits until my vape gear comes on Monday. I'm not really worried about it--I've already proven to myself that I can happily vape without smoking, so I don't see a big problem smoking for two more days until my gear arrives. I don't really feel like shelling out the bucks for more NJOY Kings, and I'm entirely confident that vaping can satisfy both my nicotine addiction and cigarette handling habit.

I saw people talking about them on a hookah forum, for a while I just thought "eh whatever" but I started to do some research when some people I know had kind of started using them. I was not a normal cig smoker (would smoke when i drank or had one here and there) but was a big hookah smoker. I got a kit in november or december of 2010 and had my last cig on newyears eve 2010/2011 and really havent smoked much hookah since then either and i used to set it up almost every day. Can't say I have saved any money but I know i sure feel a lot better even though I didn't smoke a lot and hookah was much less hard on the lungs.

I saw people talking about them on a hookah forum.

That's interesting--I hadn't thought of the similarity with hookah. I used to smoke a lot of hookah in Iraq, and it totally makes sense that a hookah smoker would like vaping what with all the flavors and all. Also, I guess hookah smokers wouldn't be as leery of the larger vaping apparatuses as newly-switching cigarette smokers--I ordered an 808 cigalike because the form factor of a cigarette is as important to me as the nicotine content.

Your right, there are not alot of B&M out there right now with the exeption of the three largest states and I woud not go to a head shop for anything...anymore lol. I just ordered from Wizard and it seems to take a while so I think next time I will order sooner so I don't run dry. I would not worry about smoking a few while you wait, you'll be done with them soon enough. For me the switch was all about $ so I completely understand. I think the "first ever" rush is probably from the other 3996 chemicals in cigs than the nic. Flavors should be food grade and are just as safe as PG and VG or Glycerin USP, but that of course is up to you. Good Luck!

I also got the 808 for the form factor originally. Really the 'juice' the hookah tobacco has on it is pretty similar to e-liquid (it is glycerine, honey/molasses, and flavoring) and the hookah tobacco is being steamed instead of burned.

My hat is off to you sir. Keep up the good work.

I don't watch television much at all, but I go into my junk folder occasionally and toss out the spam....I was seeing so many "Free Offer for E-cig" emails that one day I decided to search the internet and find out what all that was about.....which of course led me to this place....which was like falling down the rabbit hole....lol....and here I am....
if you see a rabbit with a top hat, and stopwatch?, run like hell:laugh:

I got my first kit 3 years ago from a mall kiosk....it was a total POS BUT it opened the door to the potential...i was able to not smoke when it worked...it worked for about 2 hours between charges and the cartridges needed constant re filling...i used it till it became to much of a hassle and went back to analogs...fast forward to last new years day...my cousin shows up to a family gathering with a eGo starter kit and a few clearo's...he let me use one for the day...I was blown away by the effectiveness of the nic delivery..and ordered my first kit from Awesomevapors.com from the livingroom of my Aunt on new years day...got it on the 3rd of January and have not smoked since...

Now i have 6 mods including a Zenisis and use RBA's almost exclusively...I also use my ego's for work now.

totally smoke free for 3 months now

Out hanging with the fellas and my non-smoker friend shows me his Blu. I said, " dude, wth?" he was like he saw it, liked the flavor & though it looked cool. So I researched it (google) and found ECF. I read here for about 4 days straight & felt like Neo discovering "The Matrix"!! After much debating, I decided to just jump in and bought an eGo starter kit, some juices, and a few clearos and haven't looked back since. Even have my mother converting (waiting on her starter kit from vapor couture) and constantly talking to smokers I know to get them to quit analogs and start vaping.

I started vaping a couple days ago mostly by accident. I work at a gas station, and we recently started carrying NJOY Kings. Being an avid smoker, I thought it would be neat to give an e cigarette a try. I bought one, used it throughout the the day, and found that I really didn't have any inclination to smoke real cigarettes...

I didn't buy the NJOY King with the idea to quit smoking, but since I planned on quitting before I hit 30, and since the NJOY King worked so well, I did a little googling after work, which of course led me to ECF. I read a good amount and ordered some gear (should arrive Monday), and in the meantime have been real cigarette free and happily puffing away on (and pouring money into) NJOY Kings.

So, new vapers, how did you discover vaping, and how did you come to it?

Heh, pretty much the same way for me. Saw the Blu ads on the tee vee machine. Saw a disposable when I went to buy cigs. Bought it on impulse to try it out. Discovered I forgot to light up for hours.

Shocked me. I literally forgot to smoke for some nine hours (I actually checked the receipt to check the time I bought the disposable :) ). Took me completely by surprise...

I was sick in early February, sweats, chills, a deep rumbling cough that wouldn't quit. Tobacco had to go, somehow. I have no idea why since I know nobody that uses an e-cig but as soon as I felt slightly better I went by 7-11 early one morning and bought an electronic cigarette, an NJoy. This was the first time I tried one and I thought it would be a dud but I took a big drag, inhaled and felt like my lungs were going to blow up, pretty good stuff!

I boughs some BLUs later that day at local tobacco shop, which were okay since my lungs were probably raw from coughing. A few days later, after long sessions on YouTube I retired the BLUs and bought a Volcano Inferno, which I am currently using.

Then I finally found this forum which has been a great source of information, not just for vaping and vaping gear but the politics of tobacco, ingredient in tobacco, nicotine & the FDA etc. Good stuff.

Wanted to quit for a long time. Ran into a guy trying to sell cheap cig lookalike items at a gas station. Wasn't impressed with what he showed me (low vapor production). Years later decided it was time. Tired of smelling like smoke, substantially harming my health and all the while spending hard earned money! I decided to start googling and asking around. A local shop opened up that sold more than just lame low vapor producers so picked up a clearomizer kit and a few different flavors. I'm never going back! Onward and upward!
