I guess it's time for my first post, introductory-style.

I've been smoking for over twenty years now - I started as a kid buying packs off the ice cream truck with money my best friend stole from her uncle, and sneaking them from my grandparents and parents. I've quit once or twice over the years, but it never stuck - it wasn't just the nicotine, but the habit I couldn't break. The hand-to-mouth, the deep inhale-exhale, the taste and smell. I could cut back to half a pack or less a day, but could never really give it up for good. Even when my doctor told me that my lung capacity was down by almost 25%, I still smoked, and still do.

Over the past month, though, I've been debating whether it was time to make a change. A friend of mine had just started vaping, see, and he was completely off the analogs. Even gave me his last, unopened pack of Camel Crush, then let me try out his rig. I don't remember what kind it was specifically, but I do remember it tasted good and that it was pretty neat to be able to 'smoke' inside the hotel we were staying at.

I've spent the past few days doing tons of research into cig-a-likes first, then ended up here and poured through a lot of posts in the newbie forum. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. Then... Yesterday, I took the advice of that friend, and made my way to the local B&M shop, vape Dojo. I picked up their Katana kit - eGo batt, CE4 clearo and charger - plus a spare batt and some 12mg juices; went home, filled it up, and have pretty much been attached at the lips since.

I've had two cigarettes (home-rolled American Spirit Blue, filtered) since I got home from the Dojo yesterday, and I'll probably have one more before bed. That's two a day, already down from 6-8 a day. Progress... I like progress. I've seen over and over again here that even one less cigarette is a victory.

I know it's not the best rig - I'm already less than satisfied with the flavor I'm getting, that my nic strength is too low - but it's a start. And the rest of you are so knowledgeable and opinionated, I'm sure I'll figure out how to fix that with your help. ;)

I was pretty much in the same boat as you with my past smoking experiences. However, I've been analog free for over two years now and haven't looked back.

Congrats on your decision to to quit analogs. You'll be amazed at the positive changes that your body will go through,. (Post analogs)

Good luck. We have your back and welcome to ECF

Hi, Adelwolf, and all of the ECFers.
I'm a newbie here, as well.
Like you, Ive tried about everything and have been unsuccessful getting off cigs...until now.
I bought my rig on Monday, 3/18 and didn't pick up another cig until earlier this evening.
I was tempted, and bought a pack of Camels. That's the bad news, but...after vaping for only 4 days, my old Camels tasted like crap!
I'm loving my PV and feel, finally, like I can be successful at kicking the cigs.

Congratulations to all of us that have made the switch.
For those that are still in the curious phase- there is a LOT of information, and I know it gets overwhelming. But give it a try, and don't give up!

I smoked for 27 years and my wife smoked for 33 years. We bought our eGo-t kits on Friday July 29, 2011 and smoked sat and Sunday. We started using our kits on August 1st, 2011 which was Monday and neither one of us have had a cigarette since. If you want to quit this is the easiest way. If you go analog free for about a month or two you will never want one again. I would suggest you go up on your nicotine to maybe 18mg to start with and then drop it back after a few months. Good Luck!!!! You can do it.

Great advice, StevesCVO. I did just that- I'm waiting for 4 mini Vivi Nova tanks in the mail that I can load with different flavors to quickly switch out.
Do you find that the lower resistance (i.e. 1.8 ohm) heads work better than the 2.4 ohm heads? I keep my Vamo set on VW so that when I change tanks, my wattage remains constant.

12mg is a joke, I vape at 36mg.

Easy solution get a bottle of higher mg base liquid at RTS Vapes or Wizard Labs [when reopen]
Than you can spike the currrent liquid with it.

Or go to Heathers Heavenly Vapes
Try a sampler pack, they sell liquid up to 36mg and there price is very reasonable.
$21.00 for a 50ml bottle.

If you want to go Highbrow
go to virgin Vapor

I diy my own for around $5.00 a bottle with 100% VG and Organic Flavors
Someday you might want to investigate that route.
