New Vapist...

That kinda' sounds wrong, don't it? :p

Sure wish I had found you guys a month or so ago. I started with Blu, since I had kept seeing their ads on so many of the websites I frequent. Tried their disposables first, and thought 'this could work'. Dropped a bunch of money on the Premium Starter Pack and a sampler of carts. Got a couple of duds, and the batteries seemed to drain faster than I could charge the spare.

I did a little looking around, and found V2. Better selection of flavors, batteries, accessories. Bought the Ultimate starter pack, and I haven't had an 'analog' since that starter kit arrived.

Prior to this, a pack of smokes would last me about 24 hours. In my opinion, I was a fairly heavy smoker. I was typically smoking Marlboro Mediums. Hated having the smell on me, though, and what it was doing to my health and body. That, and the fact that my 2 little kids would plead with me to quit.

This whole eCig/vaping thing is a blessing. I think I'm getting what I want out of it, for the most part. One of the biggest enjoyments from smoking, to me, was not only the TH but the sensation of that smoke filling my lungs. I don't get that as much with vaping, so I'm thinking I need something more powerful?

I get the best results from the manual batteries I have, and certainly don't mind having to press a button. I just want to continue getting the sensations I got from smoking, but don't want to smoke. I don't care so much about what the unit looks like as much as I do about how well it performs. I'm looking for something that has the widest possible amount of options, nothing proprietary if I can help it. Long battery life and even a pass-thru option if available.

I don't think I'll really ever get into making my own mods, but some DIY isn't a problem.

I'm amazed and even a little overwhelmed by all the information and different options there are. Right now, I'm kinda' leaning towards a Silver Bullet (I think that's what it's called), but am a little leary of price.

I'd appreciate as much advice as possible...and welcome your experienced input.

I've heard good things about the Silver Bullet. I don't own one, myself, though. From their website, the Silver Bullet is a 3.7v mod, which may not satisfy your desire for TH/"lungfeel" and you may want to opt for a higher voltage or variable volt mod. Alternatively, you could use a low resistance atomizer, which will simulate a higher voltage and give you more TH. You can also use a VG juice to maximize vapor production.

I, personally, use a variable volt mod at 4.5v and I'm plenty satisfied with the TH and full lung feeling I get from it, even with PG juices. Madvapes sells an inexpensive VV box mod, but there isn't a readout, so you either have to buy one or adjust to taste.

The Silver Bullet is actually one of the more moderately priced mods imo. I love my Precise plus from supertmanufacturing and my ggts from cloudsofvapor.com. That being said, here is what I tell new vapers, unfortunately and fortunately vaping will not ever be the same as smoking, that full lung feeling you are talking about is not as present in vaping, you can get some of the lung fullness feeling by choosing certain juices but not as much by choosing a different device, dont get me wrong, using a device that is capable of higher voltages will definitely deliver a stronger hit but it is a lot more throat hit rather than lung hit. You may want to try some menthol or cinnamon juices to add to lung hit, a lot of people that were not menthol smokers, really enjoy menthol vaping. I definitely think that you should get a mod for a stronger hit and more versatility, with the silver bullet, you can vape at 3.7 volts, 5 volts, 6volts and 7.4volts, all with different batts or batt combinations. Actually that is the case with most mods that take 18650 batteries. We all want to have our cake and eat it too and I feel like vaping gives me that BUT there are definitely trade offs that have to be made. In the beginning it can be pretty tough to stick with it but if you stay with it for long enough, most people will get used to it and will be happy with vaping as an alternative. Good luck.

I know that when I first started, I saw the prices and looks of mods and I told myself no way in hell would I vape that. But then I wanted more options, more vapor, more taste. While a provari's price is a factor, its versatility is where you see the savings. I don't own one but I do own a GGTS. Its one of the more pricey mods out there but I really do feel its worth it considering its construction, and its versatility.

There are 10 dollar box mods out there that can do the trick, theres 300 dollar VV devices that may work for ya. My advice is to do some research, watch some reviews, go to a local vape meet up if one's in your area and pick what you feel is best.

So much to learn! When I first started, just recently, all I knew was batteries and cartos. All this new terminology to learn! I've been on this site for hours today just trying to find answers to my own questions, like what is a tank? Do I want one? A drip tip? It looks like just a mouthpiece, do I want one of those? Ugh! Overwhelming!

Thanks so much everyone for your input so far!
