Pro tanks and evods can be rebuilt, you are just limited to how big a coil you can use, with 28g wrapped on a 1/16 drill bit 1.8 ohms is about as high as I could get with out taking a chance of a short because the coil touched the inside of the coil chamber.

but with 32g I have accidentally made a coil that was over 3 ohms ( had to un-coil it some to get to the 2.2 ohms I was shooting for ).

But it isn't that hard once you get the hang of it, there are a TON of videos on YouTube about evod and pro-tank recoiling.

I tried building a microcoil for my PT2 mini today. On my 3rd try I build one at 2.1 ohm.

This is where the newbie stuff kicks in. Why would I want to do dual coils. I do not want to sub ohm anything. I hear that even these rba and rdas use a lot of juice. I read about people using like 10ml a day. I never could afford that kind of juice even if I made it myself. I drip on a 510 atty and I am pretty happy with it, just thinking if my enjoyment would be significantly greater if I push myself to learn to make coils rather than buying those disposable attys. I vape pretty much all day since I am not working so I have the potential to blow through a lot of juice.

I think a igo l would be a good choice. But maybe a igo w would be better

That way if you wanted to do dual coils down the road you would have a easier time, but it will still work just fine for single coils.

I like cool vapor so I'm not really interested in dual coils or sub-ohms either. I think dripping has the best flavor but it can be a pain -- whipping out the bottle every few puffs. So I've been using tanks -- mostly Vivi Novas. But I do find that I waste some juice scorching it in tanks. RDAs seems to be a happy medium. They hold a lot more than dripping on a regular atty but less than a tank.

As for money, you can save quite a bit of hardware money in the long run. You can get a nice, stainless steel RDA for under $20. Wire and wick are a couple of pennies per coil -- if that. So, after a while, it will be less than buying new atomizers.

Finally, if you are worried about the future of anti-vaping legislation, you'll be set. Whatever they ban or heavily regulate, it's not going to include cotton and wire.

I bought a lot of RDAs and I rarely end up using any of them except for my igo-L and Igo-w's. They both give you enough room to build, which I've learned is really important to me. I researched for a really long time before I even attempted my first coil. Researching was good, but for me, the hands on- trial and error has been most helpful. I'm still not an expert at all, but I know when something needs rebuilding that I can do it and get back to vaping pretty quickly. :)

Try the RSST the wick hole is insulated so the if you try mesh it can't ground out

I second that. I'd only rebuilt drippers until recently. I bought a Fogger that I still can't get to work right...lol But I was able to build my new RSST on the first try, so I can attest to it being good for beginners. :)

Dual coil produces more vapor as well as a stronger flavor, and yes you will use more juice but its still cheaper then using stinkies.

A dual coil dosen't always create a big difference in temp but it can, my dual coil I posted yesterday may be just a little warmer then my pro-tank, but its not a big difference, besides the coils are alot closer to my mouth as well which could increase the warmth.

Sub ohm is when you use coils that are below 1 ohm, when you get below 1 ohm the temperature of the vape increases alot some say it feels like smoking more, I myself don't know haven't tried it yet
