Completely off topic and random... but does anyone know any tricks or ideals how to make my guinea pigs not smell soo bad? I have had them for 2 years now and I do not know if its just due to them getting older/bigger or the fact that since I stopped smoking and I can just smell better but its getting out of control. I am smelling and disgusted by their cage/bedding after only a few hours from emptying it out and putting new bedding in. I clean the cage about every 2 days at this point completely emptying and scrubbing the plastic off with soap and water (rinsing it well of course). I would change it out everyday if the bedding was not so expensive but as it is now even its starting to add up.

I gotta run, but if you're using shavings they're about the worst bedding you can use for stopping the smell. The best one we found when we were keeping rodents was carefresh. It absorbed really well. Plus it's soft and fluffy.
