Not sure if I'm at the right section so sorry about that if I'm not. I have a question about the RESISTANCE of my iTaste mvp 2.0. There are two buttons in this vape and when you press 2 at the same time it'll show the resistance of your vape. The thing is it had 2.1 or 2.0 resistance before and now whenever i check for the resistance it only says 1.7. My question is, how did that happen? How did it drop to 1.7? And I notice whenever I vape it kinda feels cold(the vapor or whatever). I have my setting at VOLTAGE mode at 4.2. Is 1.7 bad? I have no idea :( Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I also notice that whenever I vape, the vapor(smoke) goes inside of the canister or the cylinder thing(whatever is that called).

The resistance is from whatever carto, clearo or other topper you put on the MVP. As they age the resistance can change slightly, up or down, it's not a problem.

1.7Ω is not very low, usually a lower resistance will result in warmer tasting vapor, but with the MVP you can adjust the voltage up or down until it tastes good to you. Different recommended voltage & resistance combinations are just an average starting point, adjust it to whatever pleases you.

Depending on the topper you are using, a little vapor may show in the tank, not a big deal. If you let go of the fire button a 1/2 second before you stop drawing, it should clear out the tank.....:vapor:

p.s. Welcome to ECF!! :toast:

Welcome and once you get familiar with the MVP2 you'll be happy. I just double the resistance to get voltage settings...depending on the type of topper(for lack of a more technical word) you have you can either adjust it up or down, whatever your tastes call for. Doubling the resistance is a great starting point and it's usually where I leave it. Resistance reading 2.1 then I set volt for 4.2....easy. Vape away.

I have had my MVP for a couple days, so I'm no expert, but I upgrade from a VV and the interface is very similar. 1.7 Ohms is well within the capabilities of the MVP. My coil reads 1.9, so your not that far off. I set my MVP using the power setting @ 8.5 which gives me a voltage around 4.1 Volts. I discovered PBusardo's reviews on YouTube yesterday and he has a good review of the MVP 2.0. He didn't like it, but I love mine. Maybe I have stronger hands then he does from years of motorcycle riding. Hope you and your MVP learn to get along.

Since the question was well answered, I can only say that a lot of VV/VW folks find it simpler to stick to wattage settings, opposed to setting the voltage. Especially when just starting out. Reason being that when using the Wattage selection option, it automatically adjusts the Voltage according to the Resistance (Ohms) of your atomizer (topper). Variable Wattage is the "set-it-and-forget-it" choice. It maintains a consistent heat to your coils.

Here's a link to a chart which has helped many others to try and pin down a satisfying vape using vv/vw devices:

^It's not a rule, or a law, but a suggestion of settings as a jumping-off point. As always, YMMV.

You'll also notice as you loosen or tighten your atomizer, the resistance will vary. Make sure all connections are tight.

Thank you for the responses guys. I thought the clearomizer is about to fail but I found out that it was the filter thingy(whatever is that called) was the problem. I have the mvp 2.0 for about a week now and it's my first vape and since when I bought this I haven't replace the filter or wick (was it?), then I remember the guy at Monster Vape( the vape shop in my city) told me that the filter thingy only last 3-5 days lol. I replaced it yesterday and the resistance went up to 2.6, not sure if it's good though. And yes I'm loving MVP 2.0!

Also I've never thought vape would be really convenient and helped me a lot to stop smoking cig. I also lost my urge to smoke! My brother who isn't a smoker but smokes every once in a blue moon thinking about getting one after trying it! I'd definitely recommend vaping instead of smoking cig!

P.S: This forum is really nice. I love how everyone is friendly! Thanks y'all!

It sure is huge compared to the usual vape. That's why whenever somebody see me vaping this they're all surprised how huge the battery is. But I'm used to it since I have a huge phone (note 2). Doesn't bother me at all.

I'm female and have the MVP 2 and just love it. I was worried it might be uncomfortable to hold, but I adjusted right away. I hold mine kind of like a walkie-talkie, and push the button with the first joint on my thumb. Works with either hand, too. Also, as a plus, the walkie-talkie bit amuses my grandchildren a lot.:)

I'm not tech savvy and don't like fiddling and changing things much. I am a "set it and forget it" type. Someone said to only use the P button and set my watts to 7.5 for good performance, and don't bother with the U button. That's what I did, and I get really good flavor and vapor with that setting using my Evod clearomizers.

I agree for the most part but I still think it's fun to fiddle - when I used clearos I was always changing the wattage to see what effect it would have on the vapor and flavor. I found that fruity vapes tend to like lower wattage settings and tobaccos can stand a higher setting. I would encourage every new vaper to turn their device up and down to find the vape they like.

Also I would recommend that clearo tank connections are tight yes, but when screwing anything into your MVP, just snug it down barely finger tight. Torquing anything into your battery can result in crushing the insulator in the connector and leave you with a broken device.
