Hi everyone!

A little bit about my vaping journey... I started a few years ago, when I was still smoking. Vaped when I didn't feel like going out to smoke. Stopped when I lost my mod (yep, that happened, it was awful). Fast forward a few years, and now I've quit smoking, and a couple months later, found my mod! It was in the lining of a purse I almost never use. But my tank had been sitting for two years, so I needed a new tank. Then I realized my old iStick wasn't really cutting it. That's how this whole crazy journey started.

Thanks for reading!

Well, that's simple. Awesome.

What about a bit of Dawn, too? Good or bad?

I use dawn sometimes, and it's fine if you use it, but just like cleaning your dishes you need to make sure you have gotten it out of every nook and cranny extremely well..

You don't want to fill your tank with e liquid and find yourself vaping dawn.. yuck!

But I have used dawn before, and it's fine, it's just that as there are nooks and crannies you want to make certain you have completely dismantled it as far down as possible, removing the o-rings etc. and washing each part and rinsing each part individually.

I always start with water only as that usually does it and you can easily rinse your coils/wicks in it too and reuse them. If not then I'll use dish soap as it is a good grease cutter but has, as Opinionated points out, have to be well rinsed before use. Just stay away from anything that is solvent based and/or has too much of a smell to it, and don't leave chemicals of any sort in contact with those silicon o-rings for very long as they can and will absorb the chemicals & smell. A short contact won't hurt.

I had one tank that instead of an o-ring at the top of the coil used a silicone washer up inside the chimney with no way of getting it out. I foolishly filled the tank with a menthol flavor and it got behind and/or absorbed into that washer. It took forever to get rid of that menthol smell. Lots of rinses and washes using boiling water and dish soap finally did it. Did I mention I hate menthol?

Oh wow.. I'm with you on menthol getting into everything! I swear it's impossible! It took me two days of cleaning and boiling and cleaning and changing every single o-ring last time I had a tank with menthol in it!

Lol.. so so so difficult!
