Newb Joye questions

Hey everyone,

Received my Joye 510 today, so far so good. Couple questions. It comes with a few cartridges (from VaporKings) that are 2-pieces.

I also ordered the Boge 510 cartridges from VaporKings that are 1-piece. I'm assuming that I simply remove the white rubber "gasket" and fill them with juice, plug them in to the battery and vape?

I ask because after filling the Boge cartridges (the 1-piece) the vape isn't as much as the 2-piece ones that shipped with the unite. Could it be the juice (ordered two bottles of juice from VaporKings and waiting for my Backwoods Brew juices)

So in this case, the cartomizers that shipped with the unit (the 2-piece) ones are just different design, but same concept. Not sure if I refill those or just throw them out.

A cartomizer (carto) can be refilled and reused. You can remove the cap on the mouthpiece and drip onto the filling until the filling is very wet. Some cartos have a second piece that has to be removed as well. The condom, or end cap method, can also be used to refill a a carto. Save the rubbery end cap from the mouthpiece, put about 20 drops of liquid in it, and slowly push the carto mouthpiece into the liquid in the end cap. You're probably going to spill some liquid, so put it on a paper towel. When you see liquid start to seep out of the battery end, the carto is full. Let sit a few minutes so the filler can absorb the juice.

Thanks, ya, that's what I thought. Just two different model carto's.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the VaporKings juices, just not enough vapor in those blends. Waiting impatiently for the Backwoods juices...

Welcome to the forum! Finding your favorite juices is the toughest part of the switch to pv's, don't give up, just keep trying out other flavors and vendors and remember, small bottles until you find what you like. Keep posting and let us know how it's going.

When you assemble the ecigarette -

1. If there are 3 pieces total then that is battery - atomizer - cartridge (aka cart), and none of those piece is disposable - atty should be cleaned periodically, and you may need to replace the cart stuffing but you can use those over and over and over with ejuice - don't throw out those. If the attys came with dummy carts attached (carts with no stuffing in them, then those are not ready for juice but if the center juice section part is in there (sort of a rectangular depression with no openings through to the mouth-hole) then they could be stuffed and used. When you need new cart stuffing, try the precut 510 blue foam pieces at strictlyejuice.com (cheap!). Atomizers, if not allowed to overheat and not run dry, will generally last longer than a pack of cartomizers.

2. If the cart screws onto the battery then that is a cartomizer aka carto. They hold more juice than a cart and you shouldn't run them dry. The atomizer is internal for those. They can be refilled some number of times before the atty dies, or it starts tasting bad, or you singe the stuffing (if it is a normal carto with stuffing). They should be kept fairly wet for best life.

Any ideas on some other great juices aside from the recommendations for Backwoods Brew?

I ordered 5 from them to try but quite a few are sold out and unavailable. Would love some great, smooth, big vapor, chocolate, vanilla, juices for example.
