I've been experimenting with my new Ego: cartomizers, atty and carts, and direct dripping. Of these, I prefer the flavor and TH of direct dripping, which makes sense since there's no filler and only the wire mesh in the atty to get get between the coil and the ejuice. My only complaint is having to re-drip often. I am eagerly waiting for my Vision clearomizer, which I am hoping will give me a similar vape.

My question is, are all the different vaping setups with cartos, clearos, and tanks just an attempt to mimic direct dripping with the convenience of not having to refill all the time? Or do these setups bring some other benefit I am overlooking?

I am trying to evaluate all the different vaping setups and matching to the situations I vape: at home when I have all my toys available, in the car when I need 30-45 minutes without refilling, or at work when I want a quick 1-2 vapes without having to drip.

One type of PV that combines the best of both worlds is the bottom feeder, such as a Reo. I just got one yesterday and I'm impressed. You get the benefits of dripping without the hassle and mess. You just squeeze the juice bottle a little to feed a little juice into the atomizer. It's called "squonking" (although I thought that was illegal, at least in public. :D )

well, there is no doubt about it, direct dripping has been the best for me as far as flavor. however, i do think my clearos are the most durable for an "on the go" solution. the wicks love to hang on to flavor, so i have four different ones for the following catagories. fruits, coffees, sweets and tobaccos. i like my dc tanks better, but being a guy, i dont trust them in my pocket for leaking reasons. if i were a lady i would definately have my tank setup in my purse...i guess i could get a man purse? anyway, i did get a toothbrush holder for my ego battery and with a clearo, it gives me good protection from bending around in my jeans. i have stripped some threads in my clearos from getting flexed around in my pants. hope this helps.

Don't knock it until you try it. I've been using one of these for a while now and love it. It's plenty big to hold a bunch of vaping stuff (several days worth) and other crap that is handy to have. They do make them for the left or right side, which is why the two look a bit different. I found mine used on Ebay for around $40 and it was 100% worth it.

I'm in the same boat as dante, I've always dripped. I love my 357's and nothing comes close. Unfortunately atomizer tanks are few and far between. Besides GG products there's only 1 other atomizer tank Ive heard of. Now Cisco and Hanna from avid vaper are in the process of developing one but I haven't heard of any particular date of release.

It seems to me everyone is resorting to rebuildable atomizer tanks which is nice if u like to tinker with them, and the Vivi Nova has gotten some good reviews for a CE2 type tank. I'm just surprised that out of all the innovations in vaping, an atomizer tank that will work with all types of 510's hasn't been developed besides the UFS.

genesis style atomizers are pretty much an atomizer tank. they only use steel mesh and wire. the down side is they are pretty expensive, but they last forever. you just have to change the mesh and wire out.

Yes genesis atomizers are tanks, but they're rebuildable. I understand that many like them, its just not for me. I would like to pop in a quality 510 atty into a tank and vape. except for the UFS there is no such thing.
