Since im hearing that dripping is good for full flavor hits, i want to try this out eventually.

But do i need to get special equipment?

All i have is an Ego with a plastic innokin clearomizer so far, so im gone need to buy something better anyway.

Is dripping popular with the vaping community? Or more like not so mainstream.

Dripping is very popular especially in the West Coast areas. You will need a RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer), Kanthal wire, a ohms checker, wicking material, and a device to fire it something a little bigger than a ego battery. I would do all the research you can before you get into to it though. Just keep in mind that you can get alot of help here on ECF and on youtube basically with everything. Welcome to the forums, if you want to try dripping you can get a octopus which is easy to build and I would recommend a hand built coil with cotton over the stock coils. Do some google and they are a great starter for ego batteries. I use one to test juices.

You don't need a mechanical mod and a RBA to drip, although that would be the superior vaping experience.

You can use a simple 510 drip atomizer on an Ego battery. It comes ready to drip. The Ocelot's blog on dripping is excellent.

IMO rookie vapers (3-4 days) don't need RDAs or RBAs. Learn to ride the bike before you try designing one (Just my $.02).
