Hi all, I have been lurking for a few weeks so quick thanks to those members that have already unwittingly been very helpful. :toast:

Bought my first kit last week, a Tornado from Totally Wicked UK and some 18ml e-juice apple flavour from LF... So far very pleased virtually down to zero cigs in under a week which is fantastic. :)

I smoke Golden Virginia normally and am very happy to get rid of all those unwanted roll ups out of my day. Viva la vape.

Looking forward to meeting some of you on the board... (As soon as I'm allowed)

Welcome, Wan, and congratulations on going down to zero. You have a nice kit to work with, the 510 fitting gives a lot of flexibility :)

Thx AP, not quite down to nout but the 'herbal' few I have, I enjoy. :p

Lots of flexibility.. That's sounds intriguing, care to elaborate a bit?

The only side effects I have noticed so far are slightly aching legs in the evening which is odd but after reading a post earlier it seems that PG can manifest in lactic acid release!! Something I will be keeping an eye on.
The other thing I am thinking about is the strength of the e-juice, I have 18mg atm and boy can I feel it.. I am still browsing but I was wondering if there is a way that I can confirm/workout what strength is right for me? TIA if anyone can advise on this.

Yeah, that's great. I am still smoking one or two a day after a couple of weeks, so you are already ahead of me!

Cheers Bob, I wasn't trying to be misleading, I too still have a couple of 'recreational smokes' a day BUT the ones I don't really want are gone and that can only be a good thing... Best of luck to you tho mate and thanks to all for the welcome. :2cool:

Wan. It's a wonderful world when you finally rid yourself of those stinkies as another member calls them. Keep up the good work.

Congrats Wan, 5 posts down and many more to go.
Quitting the cigarettes is one of the best things you can do for your body and health. After 40 years of smoking, I still can hardly believe it's been over 4 months for me without smoking. There's no going back for me....ever.

Enjoy ECF. Plenty of support and encouragement here. :thumb:

Anyone got any thoughts they want to share on this?

1st point, is this a common observation? Im not sure how much of a concern this could be as yet.
2nd point, looking at a normal tailor made cig it is about 1mg and I'm vaping 1.8mg.. Are the two comparable? I am vaping roughly the same amount as I smoked atm so I have virtually doubled my intake of nicotine?! Am I right in thinking this?

The 510 threads are compatible with several options. You can use carts with an atomizer, cartomizers (both atty and cart combined), or a drip tip. I like the cartomizer route, since you replace the atty each time you replace the carto. They are easy to refill too, so can save you some money.

As for the nic level, I've read somewhere that nic is absorbed differently with PV's than with analogs. So my guess is that there's no direct comparison. Personally, I'm using 18mg mostly, the 24 seems too high for me. 12mg is just find for me too, and even 6mg is "bearable". If you suspect yours is too high, you can cut it with some VG or PG and see if that helps. The trick is to use high enough nic to relieve the cravings. Anything beyond that is personal preference.

I know there are folks using as high as 36mg, but some only using 6mg (or even zero). Of course, you could just order a 12mg sample and see if that satisfies you.

Unfortunately nic level is a trial an error thing. There's no rule of thunb for what you smoked versus what nic juice you'll need. That's why most people on here will recommend getting a variety of strengths. I also find that it works well to keep a little higher strength juice around for when you need a little more than your usual vape gets you.

Thx fellas much appreciated, very useful info.

I am surprised there is no direct comparison/guesstimation regarding strengths tho... Obviously the main aim, well for me, is to not increase but match my previous analogue intake. I think I maybe vaping slightly more than I was smoking but as I mentioned yesterday I think I can feel that my nic levels are slightly higher, which surprised me a bit considering I have been smoking roll ups for so long and I was always under the impression that, even when using filters, rolling tobacco would have higher nic level than a tailor made.

Maybe I will order some 12mg and see how that goes... As you guys say, trial and error will find the way.

Many thanks.
