Got our kits today. Yaaaaay! Found out I'm sensitive to PG, one wall plug doa, and one CE4 won't talk to the mothership. The mothership is an ego-t 1100mAH.

Filled it up per directions and video. Screwed it back on the battery. Clicked the battery and nothing happened. Tried with the 2nd CE4 and it worked fine.

How do I trouble shoot the problem one? I know I've come across the info in the 3 weeks I've been reading here, but my brain is just tired now.

Help a newbie out and point me to the info?

:(

Sorry to say, but the CE4's have a reputation for being cheap, delicate, short-lasting and disposable. It's one of the reasons the vendors include them in many kits, lots of re-sales of replacements. There are a wide choice of other toppers that will work with your eGo batteries, check out the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/ section of ECF for the lowdown on the latest, and more reliable toppers.

p.s. welcome to ECF ! :toast:

I've been using CE4's the entire time I've vaped (only a couple months), but I've found them to be quite hassle-free. I've heard clearos have improved in quality recently so I dunno how it used to be, but these things are reliable IMO. I've had 1 bad 1 outta almost 15. I take it easy on them tho, and rotate a bunch constantly, all w/ their own flavors. But from all the issues I read about say, Protanks, I don't see why I'd wanna deal w/ the hassle. I'd be pretty damn ...... if a BCC burned an entire tank of juice, or started giving me issues cuz it was less than half full. Worst case w/ these is I get a drop of liquid on the battery, but I've mastered the art of keeping juice outta the center hole. To my perspective as a new vaper, it seems like the CE4 is the culmination of a tried-and-true reliable system, that is mass produced to the point of literally being $1 a piece.

From all I've read about the ProTanks, I haven't bought the version 1,2 or 3....they seem very prone to problems.
Which CE4's have you been using? there's so many manufacturers & clones, copies these days it's tough to keep track....:(

I've been using the Vision Vivi-Nova, 3.5mL full size, since they were released about a year and a half ago, they work much like the old school CE2 (which aren't even available anymore...:)) A little prep work with them, and there's no leakage at all, no problems with wicking, dry hits, easy to fill and clean. Avoid the clones and copies, as from what I've read they are as bad as the ProTanks...:)

I too have been using the CE4 - and still do (Wicks, wickless - top feed, bottom feed, CE4, CE5...) . 5 different ones sitting in a rack filled with different flavors. I stumbled into purchasing a Kangertech T3s because it holds 3 ml. Yes, it cost $6 each and the others are about a buck each.

But, There is a big difference. Easier "draw", more vaper and flavor, and seems to be lasting longer. Also, the burner and wick assembly unit is replaceable for about a buck and a half.

I still have 20 or so of the others I will continue to use, but "a little better really is better". I'm not ready to throw down a few hundred bucks for those high powered male ego extenders... well, not yet anyway. :)

The firing pin may not be making contact with the battery. Turn it upside down and notice the little post in the center. With some type of small gripping tool, ease that pin out just a little. You might need to twist a bit while pulling. Just nudge it out some. Don't worry, the pin is 3/4 of an inch long. Just get it out enough to make contact with the battery. That should fix it.
