Newbie Cry for (Bloog) Help

Hello to all, my first post after lurking around here a while. I'm an around-a-pack-a -day smoker and recently noticed the ecig displays popping up at my local 7-11s, and research on what that's all about ultimately led me here. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by abbreviations and numbers, but I've decided to try the Bloog Maxx Fusion ecig and had some questions of the forum members -

first, I'm experiencing a lot of nervous, kind of heavy emotion around deciding to make this switch. I'm a really addicted smoker who really really wants out of my slavery. I'm scared I'm going to end up making PSAs smoking through the hole in my throat, and I think I am frightened to death to get my hopes up that this could help me cut down or quit. Anyone else experience kind of an emotional roller coaster around switching?

second, is Bloog really in business? I've seen so many great testimonials but they're out of everything! I won't wait any longer than the end of the week to purchase from somewhere; would it be reasonable to ask if they would honor somewhat of a "kit" price if I were to order components separately? !

one more, which flavor cartomizer is closest to what a marlboro smoker might expect in the opinion of their customers?

sorry for long first post but as I said I'm a little jacked up about all this.

Bloog sells Red cartomizers, which are supposed to be Marlboro-tobacco like, but honestly nobody has the big cig company flavors down, in my opinion. So maybe try out some Reds, get some blanks and order juice from other vendors (refilling blank carts is pretty simple). Gourmet Vapor is a custom liquid shop, there's probably someone who has configured something close to marlboros.


It's not unreasonable to ask bloog, they've been decent with me in the past.

It is totally an emotional ride. I smoked camels for ten years, at least a pack a day. I do have an analog every now and again, but mostly it's just the Maxx Fusion or a V4l battery. It's an ongoing process. Don't get stressed out about it. Takes time.

Actually piecing together a kit could be even cheaper, so make sure you check the individual pricing.

Check out their subforum on here for more information about their flavors. I've tried the RY4, 555, and Camel. I don't think any flavor will exactly match your Marlboro's, but you should be able to find something that you'll like.

Bloog is out stock alot but they are good! Hopefully it will get better after they get the new site up and going. Their staff is very good to deal with.

Do the switch. I smoked for over 45 years. Started last July with dse 901. Did nothing for me. Upgraded to a Riva in December. I had my last analog/cigarette in early January. I did not TRY to quit. I just did not feel the need to smoke any more with the Riva - I did not NEED a cigarette. The Riva filled my need. I'd recommend either the Riva or eGo starter kit from Liberty-Flights.com ($30 with 20% discount - San Diego) eGo/Riva/510 parts are interchangeable for the most part. Juice from FreedomsmokeUSA.com - Tucson. They have good sales.

A little birdie told me it's cheaper to build your own bloog kit, actually. Another thing to consider is that there are now more companies selling the same style of battery and cartomizer now as well, so you might want to comparison shop a little.

Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Get the kit and give it a shot with an open mind. Most of us start out wanting to match up the cig flavor that we know and love only to quickly realize that cig flavor was not very good to begoin with lol Seriously, once you start getting your taste buds back and breathing a little better you may find that you like all sorts of flavors that sound strange to you now.
Just try not to stress about it all. Get a kit and a few different flavors and give it a try. It is very nice not being a slave to cigs anymore IMO and these things really do work

As BlackPigeon stated, (in so many words), don't think too hard on making a switch.

I'm no expert, I've been doing this for a couple of weeks now. I was driven to this by my wife. Personally, I don't think I'm ready to quit. The one thing that held me back was the initial cost. It's a little scary. But, I took the dive. Now I'm making a conscious decision to not light up and go for my pv when I "want" a smoke. Since none of my juices have any nic, when I "need" an analog, then I go for it.

This process has cut my number of analogs/ day down to 5. I'm ok with it.

Just got my juice (with nic) from a vendor on this site. So I gave it a shot. My last analog was at 4pm today. After having the nic juice, I'm not "wanting" an analog at this time. Seems to be working. Let you know tomorrow morning after I have my coffee (this one's the big one).

edit: As for the flavor, for me, I went with tobacco to start. If I could do it over again I'd choose something else. Others have stated that it's like a freshly opened pack of analogs. That ended up being true and I wasn't particularly fond of the taste. I don't know what to suggest, but for me, I'd like to avoid tobacco flavors. Just ain't for me.

Got to agree with salemgold. I really wanted to find a good camel vape, but now i'm vaping mint chocolate stuff. It might be goofy, but it's delicious.

I haven't tried Bloogs products but I can't remember seeing any negative feed back on them.
I was a 3 pack a day smoker and as soon as I found a PV that I liked I haven't had an analog since.
The Maxx Fusion is a KR 808-D if I'm not mistaken and I use the same style from Vapor4Life I am very satisfied with that style PV.
I wish I had one for my first one, but instead went through about four different kinds before finding it.
It has been my favorite for over a year now and I don't think you can go wrong choosing it as a first PV.
As others have said, The flavors won't be exactly like a cig., but a Marlboro, Ry4, camel, or 555 may be close enough to be satisfying.
Also if you can find a menthol tobacco flavor such as a virginia menthol or such you may find that you like it.
A lot of non menthol smokers such as myself wierdly enough like menthol tobacco flavors when vaping so you may also.
Vaping is a little different than smoking but you have found the right place for any answers you might need.
Also don't fret I believe once you get started you will be glad you did.

Use NHaler- WONDERFUL customer service, lightning fast delivery, and less expensive- I bought a KR808-D1 MF style battery that far outperforms BMF- and for me, customer service is golden!

wow what a kind and helpful community! thanks for the thoughtful advice, i'm thinking of trying the ry4 flavors, that caramel-y taste sounds very pleasant, and I am a foodie married to a chef so flava is kinda my thing. it would be nice to experience them like a nonsmoker again after so many um.......decades.

I 2nd Ron's comments, In Jan, I went the Bloog route, had to take advantage of their 30 day return policy and sent it back. Batt life sucked, had to recharge every couple hours.
Went to the ego with 2 batts and never looked back. That is, until I got a Silver Bullet.

I've stopped smoking cigarettes without even intending to, which amazes me. I just wanted to give vaping a try for a couple of hours to see how it made me feel and to be honest I haven't FELT like a cigarette for almost two weeks now. That's not to say there haven't been ups and downs and I'm sure there will be more to come but seriously I'm astounded at how easy it's been so far.
I was a menthol smoker and started on the menthol flavour but found it dried my mouth out - was TOO minty (that cold feeling in your mouth?) so now I'm happy to try other flavours. Good luck and don't put pressure on yourself. We're all individuals and have to find our own ways of adjusting.

I have been vaping for about 2 months now and like the 555 quite a bit. This one gives me more of the throat hit satisfaction. I was also trying to find my marlboro flavor but didn't like the ones I tried as much. Good luck to you

Your body will start to heal and that can suck a little. Once you start to breathe again and food (ejuice to) starts to taste better, you will never want to go back. When you order your kit just make sure you order plenty of attys, or cartos and juice. For two weeks I never let my PV out of sight, after that I started vaping more like I used to smoke. When I took the plunge and bought my 1st ecig: I compared the price of the kit to my 2 week cost of traditional cigs. I figured out if I used the PV for 2 weeks the cost was a wash.

Te 555 is nice, it gives me that ash after taste like a smoke does.

that was really helpful chuppy ty i certainly intend to stock up but my god I've never seen so many vendors and choices in a product, it's difficult to navigate; I'm resigned to the fact that I will be trying a few things and shelling out a few buck to see what I like. Comparison shopping is kind of a specialty of mine but it can really go too far........
