I've gotten 70/30 PG/VG 24mg nic base from Wizard Labs. Have 555 tpa, commercial tobacco-Seedmans, and Virginia-Seedmans. Each i've mixed 5% flavor in separate 5ml containers, tried heat bath, they've been steeping for i'd say 5 days and all i'm getting is a horrible "flowery perfume" tasting vape. I've also tried other % with the same results. Any tips on what i may be doing wrong? I don't wanna get frustrated and give up, so any help would be very much appreciated. I have about 8 other TPA flavors that i'm afraid to use right now for risk of the same results.

Tobaccos are the toughest of all diy juices. Typically that perfume flavor is from using too high %. Best advice from me is add pg/vg to bring those into the 1% to 2% range and see how they are. Getting some ethyl maltol (tpa cotton candy flavor) is also essential when working with tobaccos, it will help to smooth out the harsh notes and allow the back notes to come through. Don't be afraid of the other flavors, 5% is a great starting place for most flavors except tobacco & coffee.

Thanks so much for the info, i'll give it a go with lower % and see how that goes :) What ratio of cotton candy would you recommend in a tobacco mix?

Some don't like its flavor at higher % but it can be from 1% all the way up to using it as a base. I suggest you start low and see how it treats you.

Excellent advice, i'll give that a try. Don't have any cotton candy on hand but will order. Are there any other flavors that would possibly do in a pinch? I've got raspberry, grape, peach, fruit punch, cherry, black tea and a few others

Nothing works as well as the EM but you could give that Peach a try, the sweeteness may help to mellow your tobaccos a bit. Buying the TPA Cotton Candy certainly an easier way to go, but if you're going to mix a lot of tobacco juices you might want to look at getting the Ethyl Maltol crystals and mix it with PG yourself. The ratio is 1/4 tsp per 10ml of PG.

You need to try and add 2 to 3 drops per 5ml of vinegar to your mix. Yes...You heard me right! Vinegar works magic with tobacco flavors. Any kind of vinegar you have on hand is fine. Apple cider, red wine or white vinegar. You can try this on the mixes you already have. It should salvage them.

One thing to keep in mind....

Tobacco flavors need steeping time. I would use 3 days after mixing as a minimum but really it usually takes a week.

Tobacco flavors are also really strong and only need to be mixed at 1 to 2%

Good luck,

Pete
