Happy Friday everyone! After countless hours of research I decided to get the Vapor King manual starter kit and a few accessories. Super stoked when I saw the package on my porch when I got home this evening. I was a little skeptical as to whether I'd like it or not.

Truth is, it's better than I thought! V4L was kind enough to throw in a Root Beer, Pear, and 2 French Pipe cartos to sample. My only gripe is the manual pt they sent me was DOA. Called them and they are sending me a new one with my next order.

I'm beginning to think it may actually be possible to get off analogs once and for all!

Hey Cableguy, welcome! Did you happen to get a 12V auto - USB adapter with your order? If so, try the PT in your car; as others have posted, many USB ports, especially on laptops are not rated for the necessary amount of current to drive the PT (even though they are still 5V, they don't have the "guts"). If it still doesn't work, rest assured V4L will take care of you like they have so many others.

Are you sure its the passthru and not the power supply, its 5 volts. My laptop wont power it.Im glad your liking your vaporking

I tried it on 2 different laptops and my PS3 out of desperation because I don't have a desktop anymore. A guy in customer service at V4L said it was probably bad and offered to send me a replacement right away. I want to try it on a desktop to make sure it's bad before they send me a new one.

Luckily the batts had a some charge so I got to take some puffs before throwing them on the chargers.

Hey Cableguy, why did you get the Manual battery??

I ordered the Automatic because:

1) Seems like it would be more like the real thing
2) Better Battery Life?? (Not sure but according to research)
3) Pretty much same vaper hit.

Hey Mike,
I got the manuals simply because this is my first endevour in to vaping and the manuals seemed like less fuss for a newbie. An auto will definitely be in my future.

There is always a lot of discussion re Manual vs Auto; both of you should check out the Vapor4Life subforum from the ECF Approved Supplier list at the bottom of the main ECF page. It is certainly a matter of preference, both are great - I always have one of each on me at all times. The only downside of autos, and it is fairly minor, is that the vacuum switch can allow moisture (ie juice from the carto) to get into the battery compartment. Although this is rare and almost completely due to sloppy refilling techniques, the manuals are sealed. But, there is always a small but measurable failure rate with both manual push button switches, and vacuum auto switches.

No offense, but a couple stupid questions: Are you sure you are firmly pressing and holding down the button switch? Also try pressing the button from various angles; some users have reported slight misalignment between the rubber button and the underlying switch, and can get them to work sometimes from different pressure angles. Just thought it might be worth a try, good luck!

Also, the batteries should be close to fully charged (this varies); use them until they blink then charge.

No offense taken! I read several threads about pt problems so I tried everything I read to try. When I first took it out of the package and plugged it in to my laptop I heard it kinda sizzle as I took a puff and got a small hit and that was it. Nothing after that.

Thanks for all the replies guys and gals! I must leave you all for now because as much as I love my lungs, sadly I am hell bent on destroying my liver!:D
