Hi all,
I smoked analogs for about 35+/- years and then quit for 1 year only to start up again for another year. I missed all the "good" parts of smoking and not being cranky all the time.
I tried an e-cig years ago and was not impressed. I recently have a friend who stopped smoking while vaping. Hmmm? Ok, I'll give vaping another look as it appears to really work.

I went online to do my research and was very overwhelmed like most people. It reminded me of buying my first PC, I want one, but I have no idea of a brand or options. What are all these flavors about?

I bought a City Slicker kit from Bull Smoke with a 20% off coupon, which was like getting free shipping. Flavors with nicotine? This I have to try.
I got my kit with 2 batteries, a long auto and a short manual along with 10 flavors carts, USB and an A/C adapter. Monday 11/18 I started vaping.
I'm very impressed this time. I'm totally blown away that the chocolate flavor I thought would be gross is really quite good.

I did find some of the flavors not so good and I wasn't too happy about the price for the refill carts on Bull Smoke's website, plus there are so many other flavors I'd like to try.

As I continued my research for options I learned even more about the world of vaping. I still think the City Slicker kit was a good starting point as it gave me a better idea of where to upgrade besides more flavors. I saw those videos on YouTube about refilling a used cartridge. My 10 carts could give me 2+ more uses before needing to be replaced.

While watching other "newbie" videos I concerned that my setup could be better. So I went shopping again online.
First stop was ebay for an Ego-T 900mah CE4 Vaporizer Starter Kit, which I'm wait for. Then I hit two websites for some new juice flavors, about 15 or so between the two sites.

What is this about e-liquid doing damage to some cartomizers? Maybe I overreacted as I scampered to buy 5 Aspire ET BDC Pyrex Glass Clearomizers.
Ok, I should be set for a few months now.
Nope! Variable Voltage is needed as some juice may need some more or less voltage to get peak flavor and I could use another battery while the Ego-T charges. Yeah, yeah that's it and more juice flavors. Oh look, beer flavor, lol. Yes, I bought some.
I bought an Ego-C Twist, 1100mAh on FastTech which means I'll be waiting quite a few days before I can try this out.

Ok, this should be good for a few weeks until I use up all my Bull Smoke carts and need some new empty KR808D carts or something else that would fit.
I plan on using the KR808D batteries and carts when I'm out and about as they look to be quite durable and I wouldn't cry too much should they get broken.

It's been less then a week and I'm almost gone through my Bull Smoke 10 carts. I am concerned if I don't get some juice in the mail by tomorrow. I'm not even thinking going back to analogs, just needing more juice or a filled KR808D cart. I wonder if those gas station overpriced carts would work in a pinch? Gosh, there could be an e-cig store near me, I should look online.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Cheers and happy vaping. :)

LOL ... that is quite a story! Welcome to the wonderful world of Vaping (and ECF)! I highly recommend trying to find a B&M nearby for emergency supplies (internet pricing is usually tremendously better). Who knows, they may even have juice you really like and then you can pick it up locally.

Congrats on making the decision to quit smoking!

Good story Fubar. I started with an over-priced kit 3 months ago, it didn't stop there. Then I needed more ego batteries, and CE4S clearomizers, and a Kanger T3 clearo. That was good, but I wanted more! Was wondering when it would stop! Next up is ego twist batteries, mini protank II's (I really like them), a AGA-S rba. The I oredered cheap battery mods, 18650's, a Vamo V5 (love it but only got it yesterday), several more cheap rba's, drippers, lots of different juices, new heads for the protanks, kanthal and mesh supplies, silica wick. I think I'm right for a while now, and still have gear on the way.

But since I stopped smoking, I think I have spent a bit less on all these goodies than if I had been smoking! And had a lot more fun. Gotta love it.

I too smoked heavily for approx 35 years, and as soon as I started vaping, I had 2 or 3 cigs a day for the 1st week, then it dwindled to zero a month ago. I still have a tobacco pouch from 3 months ago that is over half full.

What has surprised me most, other than that my lungs breathe much easier, and no more heavy coughing (no more coughing at all), is the total lack of interest from 95% of my smoking friends towards ecigs.

Be careful with buying cartos from the gas station, and make sure that you ASK if the cartos are 808D compatible before you buy ... you should have been able to find that EGO C Twist on Ebay for not that much more than you paid to Fasttech ... I am pretty sure that I came across some for $15-17 free shipping on Ebay. Fasttech "can be" awesome, but only order from them when you can afford to wait 8 days - several weeks depending on what you have ordered.

Congratulations on quitting, and I hope you remain successful :)

Welcome to the vaping club. Love the long stories. I went hog wild also. Had tried ecig lookalikes (they sucked), but had never even heard of real vaping until my niece turned me onto it. Haven't had a cig since, and couldn't be happier. Wait 'till you get into the big gear. You got a whole world of goodies out there just waitin for ya! Salud my friend.

best regards, larry mac

It's easy to tell where vapers live : there is a groove in the ground leading from the porch to the mailbox...

That is funny. It takes over 4 weeks to get from China to Oz these days, with that Singapore Post fiasco. e5cigs and fasttech have been good suppliers however.

I looked at the serious gear with the equal serious price tags. Not for me at this time, but I know how I like to tinker with stuff. I may even have a go at making juice too later down the road.

Now that I know about the vapor shops around me in case of delayed mail or oppsies I can afford to wait for Fast Tech or any other online store without freaking out.
The scary part now will be going into a B&M store for the 1st time. Maybe I should leave my credit card at home, nooo! There might be a good sale, yeah that's it.

Lol-sounds like you are having fun with vaping and learning! Even I am finding new things to try/upgrades on a daily basis-I'm just keeping chill with the holidays coming up. Hope you continue to enjoy your vapes(finding juices is a never ending quest with all the flavors/vendors out there for me, but fun, and sometimes disappointing too)-welcome to ecf!
