Hey guys, i'm fairly new to the whole vaping scene. I figured I had been smoking for a while and might as well try a healthier approach. So a friend of mine who has been vaping for about 3 years now, and referred me to a couple sites and got me started. I bought two CE5 SmokeTech clearomizers and two 510 SmokeTech atomizers. Firstly, it's been about three weeks since i got my clearomizers, and I noticed a really harsh, burnt plastic kind of taste. I looked up a few remedies like how to clean and dry burn and everything, but even after all that it still tastes burnt. I checked the wick underneath the little rubber cap, and it was as black as night and look charred. Is my clearo ruined, or is there a method to this madness. Getting back to the atomizers, I haven't had any trouble with using those at all except for how often you have to fill them. I feel like i get 6 good puffs in after 3 drops before it starts tasting burnt and harsh. Is this normal, or am I doing it wrong? If these questions seem ridiculously obvious, I apologize, but hey, we all gotta start somewhere. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Its perfectly normal for both. Throw out the CE5's and either get more or go to a better system...you will get much advice here of which to buy, but there will be one common theme here, those CE5's are perfect and cheap for a beginner, but now that you have hopefully kicked the habit, its time to move into a better tank system.
Pleaed note, nothing you get will ever taste better than the Atomizers you bought, except for a better brand or certain Ohm atomizer. ( unless you got the right one from the get go. But you must continually drip them.
Should be able to dry burn the clearo coils and rinse, repeat as needed until the wick is clean. I don't know much about the atomizers but that is probably about right, couple drops or three and 6 good puffs is probably all you're going to get. Someone who uses them more may have better info on them tho.
By the way, welcome to the forums and congradulations for trying to kick the habit !! 37 year ex smoker here. I luckily did it overnight and I did it with dripping atomizers also. Used them for a few months til I found this forum, I didnt know there was anything else.
i suggest purchasing an iclear 16 or iclear 30. great atomizers. you can get replacement heads for it. very simple to change out. i had an iclear 30 for about a month and i am a heavy vaper. good flavor and good vapor production. one down fall is that it is a dual coil so it can burn thro juice quite fast. good luck
Get some new clearos, then clean them and dry burn after the third tank on light colored, not sweet juice, after 2 on medium color or moderately sweet and, every tank on dark or very sweet juice. And top off at 1/4 tank left unless you are emptying to clean. The tip it an look to see that the wicks are in fact saturated before vaping that last bit.
