newbie here got her Riva

My Rival 510 came yesterday. So I did the 8 hour the charge and was anxiously awaiting the 20 minute vap that I got to do before putting it back on the charger for the last hour. I had my carts filled put it all together and went to town and hated it!
I was so disappointmented. I couldn't get a good draw it felt funny in my mouth. But I continued to try to make friends with during the 20 minute vap before putting it back on the charger for the last hour. I could of cried and just new it wasn't gonna be some thing that could keep me off the analogs. I got it off the charger and started trying again.. For some reason taking the opptional cone off made a big difference. Then I finally sucked on it more like a straw and not so hard. I added a little juice to the tip of my cart to moisten it some more.
I am happy to report the Riva and I have become the best of friends! I love it! I am vapping away making big plumes of vapor as we speak. I am so glad I didn't get another mini kit and shot right for the 510. Thanks to all who encouraged me to get it. Its definitely going to work for me.

once I got away from those things that look like cigs ....( CRAP,CRAP,AND MORE..CRAP !!!!) WENT TO THE e-GO (JUST LIKE THE RIVA ) and at first I thought (crap !) but then learned (the curve) and holy s--t !! the vapor,flavor,& th. WOW ! never went back ! I still got an E-go, or two..2 K-GO's , a V.V. box mod and a Phidius. I ordered some Boge cartomizers should be here Monday and I think I will like those better than the little carts that came with it. They seem to dry out pretty fast.
I can't believe I have basically quit smoking and it was actually not an intentional thing. I had a little 21st century gas station e cig for a plane trip that my sister in law had picked up and I just kept puffing on it that's was a little over 3 weeks ago and I bought my husband a carton smokes this last week and didn't have any desire or even need to get a carton for me.
Now I'm working on him. He is ready but is still in the " I want it to look like a cig. mode so I am in search of some thing for him that he will be comfortable with.

You beat me to it...the Boge cartomizers are awesome and makes vaping easier. Get yourself a drip tip to put on the carto..makes for easier refilling instead of having to carry something to pull the plug out.

LoL! I had them throw me in a drip tip when I ordered the boge cartomizers! All the great people here have taught and educated me well and given me the encouragement and support thatvI needed.

You don't really have to charge them 8 hours or do that 20 minute thing.

Atomizers may some with some nasty tasting primer on them. If so, you can * blow out the atty, prime with 3-4 drops eliquid dripped on the bridge, wait for that to soak down to the coil, vape that mostly off without inhaling, then repeat from * and then repeat from * again and this time try inhaling. I recommend a drip tip or empty cartridge for the atty primer cleaning part.

Yeah the cone makes it harder to drag on but increases hit supposedly. I don't bother with the cone.

For the cartridges - While finding juices you like I recommend blue foam stuffing. When the white cart stuffing get yucky you can toss it and try the blue foam (tapered end goes in first). You can buy precut blue foam stuffing for 510 carts cheap at strictlyejucie.com. On a full fill, pull the stuffing, fill juice cup 1/2 way (2/3 only if you are daring), insert the tapered end of the foam, press the fom down into the liquid (an unbent smooth paperclip works well as a tool), reposition the stuffing at the top edge of the juice cup, and top off with 2-4 drops or whatever make it look damp but not a puddle. Then while vaping, just top off as needed until topping off doesn't work, then do a full fill.

And I highly recommend Boge cartomizers for your favorite thinner juices. They hold twice as much as atomizer carts, need juice added less often, provide a more consistent and troublefree vaping experience. There is a bit of a learning curve to filling them properly and sensing when they need liquid so you don't singe the stuffing and ruin the flavor. The stuffing of a carto cannot be replaced. They have limited lives - I can usually get 1-2 weeks use out of a Boge with thin clear juices. Some succeed at cleaning/drying them for additional live, and some fail, and many don't bother - they are meant to be disposable.

I would recommend starting with standard resistance Boge 510 cartomizers while learning to use them - they are more forgiving and won't singe as easily. Then if you want more heat/hit att he cost of battery life, try the Boge LR 2.0 ohm ones (or the medium 2.5 ohm if you can find them)

You've jumped right into a great battery setup, now you can start the search for the perfect flavor juice so much sooner!!

Take a look at the Volt / smokelessimage, I bought one for my GF to try and was very pleasantly surprised. Good vapor, great flavor, the jury is still out on battery life - but that's easy to fix with a Riva 901

And suggest trying the eGo mega dual coil cartomizers from Madvapes.........these are my favorite right now, especially if you are tired of topping off cartos.......they hold a biggie amount of juice. (I do not do ml or oz, just big or small.)
