Hi Everyone.

I am a newbie here. I am a friend of orachel and she has been an angel getting me started. I am very excited.

My husband has been a 1-2 pack of Marlboro Lights a day smoker for about 10 years. He knows that he has to quit and seems open to the idea of giving this a shot. He isn't quite in the mind frame to do the research himself and sort of just wants me to put it in his hand. Baby steps :D Knowing him, once he gives it a go, he will be all over it.

Question - What juice is most like Marlboro Lights? And is there one similar to Oreo Cookies?

Also, does anyone Vap just for the taste with 0 nic? This whole new world has me curious to try it.

Thanks so much.
Hollie

First off, welcome to ECF. I suspect your hubbie will really enjoy vaping once he tries it - if his initial experience is a good one. So it's important to get a good system from the get-go.

I'm still very much a newb, but I bought a KGO starter kit (based on a number of recommendations here on ECF) and I have been VERY happy with it. It's cheap (less than the cost of a carton of smokes), simple to use and understand, and works great.

I got mine from DarkCityVapor.com. Hoosierecig.com sells them too, as do other places. I think VirginVapor sells them. It seems that everyone's starter kit is a little different on what's included. Make sure you get a charger - at least a USB charger and (preferably) a wall connector too.

I would also highly recommend getting at least a 5-pack of these smok-Tech 1.7ohm XL cartomizers: Smok Tech XL 510 Single Coil Cartomizer - 5 Pack

You should also pick up a couple of driptips and some juice. There are a lot of threads here on ECF about peoples' favorite juices that will give you some ideas of flavors that might work for your hubbie.

Hi Pappy and reesedog. Thank you for the welcome.

My friend is sending me an eGo and recommended the Smoke-Tech 1.7ohm cartomizers too. I am going to place an order for the cartos today and some juice. I can't wait to get him going!!! I love the idea of the USB charger as he spends most of his day at the computer, so no excuses for it not being charged.

I have to say vaping a cinnamon bun vs. the 1000 calorie real deal has great appeal to me :D

Hello! I only felt the need to respond because I have just recently quit and also smoked 1-2 PAD Marb. Light smoker. Honestly, the only juice I have found to simulate the taste of those is called 'Favorite Tobbaco' and you can get them here: https://www.zeecigs.com/eliquid-DIY-Bottles-Tobacco.htm. When I originally quit, that flavor really made me feel like I was still smoking those. But after a few days, I definitely didn't want to taste anything like what I used to smoke heheheh. Cheers!

Hi Hollie, I hope your husband appreciates what you're doing!

Despite my join date, I've only been vaping for a little less than three months. At first I couldn't imagine NOT wanting a tobacco flavor, because I seriously enjoyed smoking and the taste. But actually, turns out I don't like tobacco flavors at all when vaping (except for one with a honey taste added that I really enjoy.)

Taste is SO subjective** though so I'd strongly suggest ordering sample packs, or very small bottles of juice in several categories - fruity, candy, drink, bakery, complex, tobacco, savory, etc. The initial outlay in cost might be a bit spendy but once he figures out what works for him, it will run cheaper than smoking by far. And you can trade or sell juices on here, or maybe find someone locally who will take them off your hands. I converted a neighbor to vaping and he's not picky - he takes all my rejects!

**I bought a bourbon-type flavor from a well-known vendor (I've adored almost everything else I got from them) and really disliked it...a faint taste of stale, but definite, chocolate was all I got. Had several other people try it...one said "oh, bubblegum", another thought a fruit-punch-type blend, another thought it tasted like Pepsi...

PS: I've had Cinammon Bun flavor and it is divine!

So hubby went into the gas station today and the gal there put 2 packs of Marlboros on the counter. He said, "No, just one. I am going to try to quit smoking." I am very happy that he really is in the mindset to give it a try.

I ordered sampler today...a little of everything...plus some Cinnamon Bun for me. :D

Thanks!

Hi and Welcome.

With Nic or with out it doesn't matter to me I like the Flavors. I have been 3 years without a real cig. My husband on the other hand.... still smokes. But I just got him the eGo. and he seems to be taken to it well. He REALLY Likes the DK U.S.A mix. as for the Nic. it is a mind set, I have to get him High 24. other wise he won't smoke it. I have to prove to him this will work. I have also tried the USA Mix. it is GOOD. I Like the DK Tab it taste like hazel nuts to me. Vanilla is my all day vape. and if you mix them YUM!:p Hubby also LIKES Coffee flavored. He was a sailor for 20 years go figure.

Welcome to the forum. I vape nothing but zero nicotine. I like the choice of flavors at ecblend.com. You can order 5ml. bottles for $2.50 each in various nicotine levels or no nicotine. I ordered five different tobacco flavors, and they threw an an extra. I wound up likeing their choice best "7 Leaf Blend", and ordered a large bottle of it. I began with a DSE701 E-cigar Kit. I have been quite happy with the way it works. I find that I can refill the provided cartridges about four times before they get a little packed down and less absorbent. I will probably upgrade soon to something that lasts longer between battery charges. In the meantime, I turned it into a pipe by adding a Kuwako bowl from Janty.com-- looks kinda cool.

Hollie, something I'm figuring out is that, FOR ME, throat hit is more important than the nicotine level. At least I think so. (I'm just a week into this.) The throat hit gives me that sensation of smoking, which I think is more important (for me) in the short term than the nicotine.

As I understand it, the PG is what gives you the throat hit, and VG makes the vapor. I ordered most of my initial flavors in a 50/50 mix. I also have some in 70/30 and 80/20 (PG/VG), and I'm finding that I prefer those over the 50/50.

Your hubbie's mileage may vary, but just FYI.
