So, due to wanting to buy all my stuff in one spot (and save on shipping) I'm considering buying some DIY TotallyWicked liquid and Lorann flavorings from the site where I'm getting my ecig parts.

The site says you mix 1:1 ratio of e-liquid to glycerin and then add your flavoring "to taste" so-to-speak. Sounds easy enough...

My questions are: Is this accurate? Is it really that easy to 'make your own' if you aren't trying to create a custom flavor? (I was just going to buy the bubblegum flavoring and the caramel so nothing special) And lastly, is there things I should worry about with trying to mix my own like gooping up the atty, etc.

I'm skeptical cuz it almost seems 'too easy' and I'm worried that I'll actually get all hte stuff and it will turn out tasting nothing like the pre-made juices I've been buying.

Oh, and I read that it takes a significant amount of flavoring to actually flavor these DIY liquids. How many 1 dram bottles of LorAnns would be needed to flavor (preferrably at around "double flavor" taste) a 30mL bottle of TotallyWicked juice?

Thanks for your help!!

It's not too difficult. You just start with an unflavored base (usually), add in PG and/or VG, then flavorings. Some flavors are going to be stronger than others, so the % of your mixture will really boil down to personal taste.

You will want to use an e-liquid calculator to get precise measurements, as far as meeting your target nicotine strength.

Scubabatdan's e-juice calculator is shown here -

Just to give you a general idea. Most of my DIY liquid is 12mg strength. I take a 24mg base (50% of the mixture), VG (30-40% of the mixture, depending on the strength of the flavors I'm adding), and 10-20% flavoring.

To test flavors, I would suggest to just use regular VG and/or PG (non-nicotine) and add in some flavor and see how it tastes. That will save your nicotine liquid.

Of course, if you are mixing up non-nicotine liquid, then it all gets much simpler. You just add in PG and/or VG, flavors, and distilled water to thin it out if it is too thick.
