Newbie need help with Vortex 2's

Hello all,
I'm relatively new to vaping. I hope this is the right place to post this.
Just got my kit about 3 weeks ago. I'm using the V2 cigs travelers kit that include a usb pass through. I just received my new Vortex 2's today. They are the 808's, 2.4 ohms. First off let me say these Vortex's are awesome. Consistently good flavor and vapor. Much better than the cartomizers that come with the kit.
My questions are:
1: Are the contacts for the battery connection, on the Vortex, adjustable? The reason I ask is they vape excellent on either my automatic battery or manual, but do not work at all on my usb pass through. It seems as if they don't make contact. I don't want to break them if they're not adjustable.
I would really like to use my pass through, as I am at my computer most of the day.

2: Whats the best way to clean them?

Once again let me say how impressed I am with them. Well constructed, excellent, consistent flavor and vapor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't used those persay, but sometimes just a gentle wiggle on the things I have used will do it. Take that for what it's worth and I'm sure someone will be along shortly to help more. If you get your 5 posts you can go to the gotvapes thread for help too.

Thank you for such quick reply. Yes I did unscrew, re screw, gave it a wiggle, jiggle, and even tickled it with a feather, to no avail. Lol, I'm at a loss.

Never use them. You can try to gently lift the ceter post of a carto or the one of the PT (but disconnect the PT from power first).

I use Vapor4Life KR808D-1's and both posts can be lifted. You just have to go slowly and evenly and you can and when you screw on the carto it will even it out.

Of course it is your equipment and if you break something - that can happen. Be gentle and do not stick anything in the middle hole of the threaded ends.

Hmm, that's strange. I raised the post a little on my pass through. I could feel the cart making contact when I screwed it on, but still does not work. It only works on regular or manual battery. It doesn't make sense. Almost like there is a protection against using these at higher voltage.

i'm curious to hear it too. I just ordered a 5-pack to see how well they work. I'm new to this too. The only thing I've used are cartomizers, but I want to try it all. I did just order 6 packs of cartomizers so I won't run out, but the vortexes look cool.

Be careful with the 2.4 Ohm cartos on the passthrough. I had a Vortex 2-like 3.0 Ohm carto burn out on 4.96 (measured) Volts.

2.4 Ohms on the 5 Volt USB is about 10 Watts.

I'd keep the 2.4 Ohm Vortex 2's in the 3.7 Volt range.

I was wondering about that too. Thankfully it doesn't appear to have burnt them out. I would consider ordering the higher ohm cartos for the pass through, but not sure if they'll work on mine, 808. Might have to purchase a different, 510?, pass through, and go from there. With the 510 carts of course.

I just got some of these yesterday. They only work on one of my batteries(I have 4); DOA on three others and my USB passthrough. Tried pulling the pin out on the bottom of the carto, per an e-mail from the gotvapes folks.

Did I understand right? You can raise the contact point on the battery/passthrough?

Good deal on them working on the passthrough. Since they work, go for it. It could be I just had a weak 3.0 carto or they are a little different product.

@TheMaestro, I posted my problem in the Gotvapes forum. A reply came back stating that the center posts of the Vortexs are adjustable with a screwdriver. Did you try to pull the center post or did you use a screwdriver? Also, as Cool had mentioned earlier, may need to go with higher ohm carts for usb pass, which is 5 volts I believe. Oh sorry forgot to mention, I was able to raise the center post on my pass through. I only did it a little bit with a pin. Did not seem to help. I have Kr808d-1 style, pass and batteries.
