Greetings:

I am trying to purchase e-cigs for my hubby and I am looking for suggestions for a reputable supplier or good links in the forum that may help me pick
a good company to by from.

My hubby is a heavy smoker over 2 packs a day. He has been smoking since childhood and likes non-menthol ciggies.

Can anyone help me on picking the right brand/type of e-cig and a good place to buy them from?

Thank you.

Hi Mary and Good Luck on this journey.

For a 2+ pack a day smoker, as I was, please consider an Ego as a first e-cig. A starter kit for one of the smaller battery models will appear to be cheaper at first look. However, if this is to be successful for the heavy smoker, you will need quite a bit of equipment beyond that starter kit, and the hassle of carrying the spares around can be a big impediment to a successful switch to full time vaping. I went that route, and stepped up to an Ego just as soone as I saw that the biggest downfall of the cigarette style was the battery life.

The ladies at Cignot are now selling the Ego, and their reputation around here is absolutely sterling. Let me say on that note though, I have done business with about a dozen suppliers listed on this forum and across the board, I would rate the customer service and customer concern as outstanding. The suppliers I have run across all seem to embody an "we're all in this together" mentality that flies in the face of the corporate "me first, last, and only me" attitude that seems to pervade our current world.

Best of luck and remember........get SOMETHING....get it SOON.....get STARTED.....rest assured there is someone who has found the answer for any issue you run across and the answers are here in this forum to get you past it. The decision to go forward will FAR outweigh the initial cost to get started, and you will likely move on to another model down the road regardless of where you start.

Best of Luck........vape ON!

Hi marybee,
Well... There's lots of good choices. People around here seem to like this site Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. . They seem to have everything related to the Joye 510 which is a good solid choice to start with. I'd say get the eGo to avoid going through the frustration everyone seems to experience with the stock batteries. The eGo batteries hold a charge a LOT longer.
I've always used a DSE 901 just because that's what I found first that was better than the scammy cheap pieces of *bleep* that are advertised on the radio. The 901 is a good unit too but when you get sick of charging the little stock batteries every hour or two with those, the only real solution is to get a big battery modification.
The conventional wisdom in comparing the 510 and 901 is that the 510 runs a little warmer and makes a little more vapor. The 901 seems to carry flavor better.
If you want to check out the 901 try this site e-Cigarette starter kits
I hope this helps. Good luck to you and your husband.

Thank you for your replies. OK, eactly which of the EGo kits is the best one to get? I was looking at the Joye eGo - Black Manual kit, I cannot post a link yet cuz I am new to the forum.

And then...what else do I need to get if anything? Are the liquids what
I purchase for refills so he can keep smoking?

Sorry if my questions sound dumb, I am a non-smoker so I really don't
know what I need to get to set my hubby up completely.

That's the one you want to get! :)

No matter WHAT you order, make SURE it's a MANUAL.

Yes, the ecigs need that liquid, that's what creates the 'smoke'. No liquid, no ecig!!

One of the Forum favorites for liquid is Tasty Vapor. His tastes are AMAZING and they ARE exactly what's advertised! One of his best, IMHO, is the Atomic Cinnacide. If your hubby likes cinnamon, it's as close to vaping Big Red gum as you can get!

But, for the beginning, he'll probably want a 'tobacco' flavor and Tasty Vapors is VERY good!!

Good luck and no questions are 'dumb'! :)

Ugg....OK, I went to Tasty Vapors and I see the regular Tobacco flavor.
What strength do I get and what PG/VG concentration do I get? All VG, 10% VG or 20% VG (don't even know what that means)

How many cigs can my hubby get with a 1 oz. bottle of liquid?

Yes! He will need plenty of liquid. I go through about 3 ml. a day. Get a variety of flavors. Probably want a few of the tobacco related flavors first.
Do get extra atomizers too. Cigarettes are tough habit to break. It's a LOT easier with e-cigs but there is a bit of a learning curve with them and you don't want to run out of juice or have a shortage of working equipment.
I used to pay $7.50 a pack for smokes so $6.00 to $10.00 a month for atomizers and about $60.00 a month for juice is a lot less than the $225.00 I used to spend on killing myself. I'm so much healthier now.

For a 2 pack a day guy I'd start with 24mg. You can go up a little if he still has cravings or drop it down later. I started at 18 mg. and had to bump up to 24mg. I'm back down to 18mg. three months later. He'll find what works for him but I think 24mg is a good starting point.

Marybee- what a wonderful gift you are giving your hubby. I was also a 2 pk a day smoker. I use an Ego and love it-haven't gone back to a reg. cig from day 1 with an ecig. I go thru 2ml of liquid a day-a 1oz bottle=30 mls.

I drip the juice into my ego when I am at home but when out driving I use a cartomizer-it has the juice already in it and lasts me a few hours. Here is where I get my 510 ego cartomizers- www.dietmokes.com
good luck. Jenn

I hear that Ecopure is good and cignot has it, maybe try the English Toffee or Rich other then just tobac. It's a little expensive but to start I'd just get it. If you're looking to save money in the future some places like madvapes have good liquid for $11/30ml or 50ml. That $11 worth would last you half a month. The eGo is a great device btw..

Liquid Link

It actually smells nice, assuming you're a non-smoker you'll probably like it.

marybee, don't get overwhelmed with the barrage of suggestions you're getting. Just take a deep breath and order something. There's LOTS of opinions around here and in a few weeks your husband will have a few of his own. :)
It's not that big of a deal if you choose one of the products suggested and a good supply of liquid he'll do fine.

Great everyone, you have all been so helpful!

Ok, so here is my shopping list and this is what I think I should get to get him started, let me know what you think. I just want his first experience with this to be a GOOD one so that he keeps on with it and it does not go by the way side. Also, he thinks he should keep smoking regular cigs while doing this, one real cig on vapor cig and try to cut back that way till he is on the all vapor cigs, what are your thoughts on that?

My Cignot shopping list:

Joye eGo - Black Manual Kit
ECOpure Rich 30ml, 25mg Nicotine
Three Joye 510/eGo Spare Atomizers

Anything else I need?

Two liquids, one less atomizer.. that's all I can think of.
