Hi guys,

great forum you have here, looks really helpful, but need some help and advice please.

just started using my e-cig this morning and so far i have all my hair in place and not pulled it all out yet lol

the e-cig i have was one i got sent for free as a promo type thing

there from w*w.ecigsbrand.co.uk but there refills do seem quite expensive at £50.99 for 10 refills
I do have 20 refills left but when they run out i want to by then find out the cheapest way of using e-cigs
the ones i have come with a nice plastic case that holds the c-cig the usb charger and two refills

my fisrt question is... can you use cartrides on other makes of e-cigs or does every brand have there own refills that only fit there e-cigs?

whats the cheapest way of doing this new e-cig i,ve seen them in the shops now but no idea how much they are or what brand are in uk shops at the moment,

i,ve heard you can refill your own does this work out cheaper? and which brands let you do this

how long does a battery last in an e-cig?

i,m betting that once these refills run out i,ll have to buy a new e.cig kit and dont know where to start really this being my 1st day...

silly question i bet but can these be got on prescription??

thanks for any help you can give me :)

How much do the cartridges cost????? Bloody hell!!!!!! Ditch that thing right away. U need to be careful of these free e cig offers. Mostly they are a scam. What u should do is buy an ego kit from a good online retailer. Usually get a good starter kit for £40 or so. Battery should last all day and being able to buy ur own choice of juice flavours is all part of the fun. At around £10 per 30ml bottle u will save a fortune and have a much better experience with e cigs. Hope this helps a little. We are all here to help so no question is a stupid question around here. Welcome to the ecf.

Hey there, Ill go ahead and write my opinion.
I think you should stay away from the kit you bought. I dont know how you got it for free, but one of the things you should watch for are "free trials" that will actually suck you into buying more stuff and before you know it, youve spent way more than you planned just by buying their ridiculously priced refills.

To answer your questions, there are different types of threading a company will use. A certain "brand" may use a certain thread and there are usually adapters available for use.
You can refill your own cartridges and it is USUALLY cheaper than buying prefilled cartridges.
A normal pen thick battery might last as long as 2 hours to a whole day depending on usage, but battery life is generally short for those.

Since you got it for "free", I would ditch it and go with an EGO based kit.
Search for that and youll get more info.

This is just my opinion, but its a good thing you joined so that you can search out all of the information this forum provides.
Hopefully Ive helped you a bit.

Good luck.

Hi ranger, yeh i was thinking that it was expensive but hey it was a free trail :)

now my thing is to find out how to do this cheap as possible as i,m so used to buying my roll-up backy duty free at around £7 for 50grams but my chest is getting so bad due to smoking i need to try to stop smoking really, have tried before but failed and started smoking agin after around 3 months,

so where are the best ego kits and online retailers i have no idea where to start or which ones to buy, is refilling your own cartridges easy to do? where do i buy it all from?

Welcome sealover1. Yes, it will definitely be cheaper to fill your own. Until you have new stuff, maybe you can refill the cartridges you have. You just need to get some juice.
I'm sure someone from the UK, will be along soon, to point you in the right direction.

By the way, the cheapest in the long run, will be to DIY your own juice. That is of course once you have some hardware and juice to get started with. The DIY you can think about later. For the near future, you need a few batteries, a charger and some cartomizers, and of course some juice.

See if you can somehow 'cancel' your 'free trial'. Ie. not be obliged to pay them anything. Free trials are a scam as far as I know.

Vape escape or liberty flights are good places to start looking for a decent starter kit. Ego batteries have a mah rating or miliamp hours. The higher the mah rating of the battery the longer it tends to last before needing recharged. Cartridges are kind of old technology these days and don't tend to work very well. My first set up was an ego c kit with a clearomizer tank. These are tanks that screw onto your battery and hold up to 3ml of e liquid. Usually enough to last an average user all day. Look for vision vivi nova or even a kanger t2. Both work really well. I use a site called paradise vape for my e liquid and he sells starter kits too. Really nice guy that runs the site and his juice is always top quality and made fresh to order. IMHO u can't go wrong with that kind of set up till you get a bit of experience.

Hi ranger, yeh i was thinking that it was expensive but hey it was a free trail
"15 Day Trial Offer: Unless you call to cancel, in 15 days and every 30 days thereafter, you will be sent 10 refill packs (equivalent to 20 packs of tobacco cigarettes) for only $79.99 plus S&H. To modify your order at anytime call 1-866-830-2464. Limit one per customer."
You're going to end up paying through the nose. There's a stickie here at ECF warning of "free trials". The good news is, and I would immediately take advantage of it, there's a 30 day money back guarantee BUT I would cancel by telephone BEFORE the 15 days as per the quoted/ bolded above. Here's a vendor that is highly regarded by ECF UK members selling a solid starter kit and the price is £34.95
2 x 1100mah Batteries (3 Clicks on/off)
1 x Vision Ego Standard Resistance Clearomisers
5 x Standard Resistance Cartomisers
1 x Cover Cone
1 x USB Charger
1 x 510 Drip Tip (For use with the cartomisers)
1 x Vape Escape Carry Case

The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
To the above list I would add an atomizer to test the juices before committing a cartomizer or clearomizer to it- some juices are horrid.
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/510-low-resistance-atomiser~192
After that all you would need is some juice- very, very easy to fill your own and far cheaper than your present setup.
Also after 5 posts wait 1 hour for the ECF servers to reset and you can post in the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/uk-forum/
Good Luck.

Even the manliest of men on this forum would shed a tear if they payed 79.99 (plus S&H) for 10 cartridges.

Hello & welcome Sealover, I'm in Cornwall, so not that far from you :)

As the others have said, you need to avoid the "free trial" merchants like the plague. Even if you send it back, please keep a check on your bank statement, as folks have had money taken out of their accounts by them at later dates :(

The Riva kit that Vapoor eyes er has linked to is an excellent kit & from an excellent vendor. I also agree that James @ Paradise vapes, is a really nice guy :)

Here is a list of some other good UK suppliers, with some discount codes -

Not flaming Paradise Vapors but the starter kits he sells have the cartridge+ atomizer delivery system and are known to be eventually problematic with leakage. The Riva is also a more powerful battery than the Ego and comes with a clearomizer- just fill and vape- also comes with 5 cartomizers. These are the 2 of the most popular delivery systems. Some purchase a lanyard that goes around their neck to hold the PV.
Battery Dimensions:
Battery: 3.50" in length .5" in diameter
Realize the Riva is identical to the Kgo. Here's a review:

That's called a tight draw- cartomizers are more airy and it prolly means your cartridge may be running low on juice OR it could mean your atomizer is getting gunked up and needs cleaning. Ignore the vendor stating the cartridges are equal to X number of analogs.

Carry Case Approximate Dimensions:
Outer 15cm x 6cm x 4cm
Inner 14cm x 4.5 x 3cm

Yep, not that far away at all, I'm just a mile East of The Eden Project :)

Not sure of the size of the Riva case, but I doubt it would fit in a a jeans pocket, but should fit in a jacket pocket.

No not all e-cigs are the same, far from it. The ciggie lookalikes, don't last very long between charges, the cigar sized ones like the Riva that Vapoor eyes linked to, should last most folks all day before needing to be recharged, plus you get the 2 batteries with it that's a must have for a starter kit.
