Hey Everyone,
I am new to the e cig. scene. I just got my Blu e cigarette and sadly i wish I would have found this site before ordering. I like the Blu, but then again i have nothing to compare it with other than regular cigarettes. I am an average smoker, on a bad day I probably smoke about a pack, on a good day maybe around half a pack a day. I was introduced to the e cigarette by my father in law who uses his a lot. From what i seen, his has a button you have to push to use it. I do not have a button on mine. So with this post I just had some newbie questions that maybe someone can answer for me.
1. if the Blu is as bad as everyone says it is, what would be the best e cig for me to get that is comparable to it? I like the Blu's look and feel. The case that came with it doesn't really matter to me, all I am concerned with is replacing regular cigarettes with the e cig and to have quite a bit of smoke come out when i exhale and also to taste good.
2. To help, while I get the money together to buy a new ecig if needed, is there anything I can do to my Blu that would enhance the performance with the taste and the amount of smoke I puff out?
3. Is it possible to use my father in laws push button end with my Blu? I like the ability to use the button, but still somewhat stay with the Blu style.
4. If I get a bottle of juice, is the only thing I have to do to refill the cartridge that comes with the Blu fill it to the top and put it back on the Blu?

Thank you for your time and replies :)

Answering the 'more power' question: there are 2 to 4 little air holes where the battery meets the 'filter-looking' part of your ecig. Hold your finger over all but one as you take a long, slow draw. You should get more warmth, throat hit and vapor. Cupping your hand over the little light on the end helps also. Hang in there!

We'd have to know what your FIL is using to know if it's compatible.
The only thing I can tell you about improving the Blu is mod it (see modders forum) into something like the NicoStick.
You can buy mods which I think you'd be happier with if you don't want to build them yourself.
Another option is buy something like the Riva or eGo with the manual option---long battery life is a big A+.
At the moment all you have to do is fill the cartridge (if it puddles at top, dab off the excess) but eventually the filler will need to be cleaned and/or replace.

Welcome to the board, Jiggaman! Yep, I totally understand what you're talking about in reference to this board. It is AWESOME!

I have used a Joye 510 for almost a year and it is perfect for me, but everyone is different and has different needs. I know nothing about the Blu set, but I do know that I like the manual button better than the automatic. I can control the e-toke better with a manual button, but that is just me. Not everyone is the same.

Regardless, don't give up on the e-cig. With some people, it's love at first toke.....for others, it's 'what did I just spend all this money for and it taste like this???????' I was a bit discouraged at first, but I was determined! I was going to make it work, by george! On my 2nd day, I only smoked 2 analogs and thought, 'hey, if I only smoked two today, I can put these suckers down!' AND, I did. :)

Jiggaman - I don't know much about the Blu but I will put in my 2 cents anyway. :) I found out after buying 4 different devices in the last couple of months that the smaller "cigs" really don't deliver a very close semblance to smoking and that the bigger ones give more of the throat hit and vapor volume that is closer to the real thing. Having to suck hard and getting very little "smoke" is discouraging. So I bought the Ego and just got a Mega atomizer (type A) and I don't have to suck 'til my cheeks implode to get a large volume of vapor. It is also a bit warmer than the smaller devices so feels more realistic. The only difference is the taste is better than cigs, and you have to get used to the button and the size of it - can't just hang it from your mouth anymore. It's a small thing to give up for all of the benefits. If you end up spending a bit more to get the right device, oh well... You would have spent much more on cartons of cigs and your health will be much better for it. Then when you find the right e-liquid that satisfies you will be good to go. If you check out YouTube there are tons of videos showing people using the different types of E-cigs so you can get more ideas about what would work best for you. That is where I finally found the info to buy my first e-cig and went on from there.

I'm afraid that that all ecig like the Blu are going to be about the same. Blah! The next step up would be a Riva or eGo as so many people recommend. You'll get more flavor, vapor and much longer battery life. The Riva is very affordable and I think you will like it once you've tried it. It doesn't look like a real cig but that won't matter after awhile if you stick with it. When I bought my ego I thought the battery way huge. Then I bought an Indulgence and that made the Riva look pretty darn small. You'll get use to it. Give it a try.

If you're wanting to upgrade, but still want use something that resembles a cigarette, the KR808D-1 mega batteries might be worth checking out. I picked some up from nhaler.com after being pretty disappointed with my greencig starter kit and was blown away by the difference.
But, if you're willing to venture away from what you're familiar with, the ego IS a fantastic unit to jump right into.

I don't have a Blu but am fairly certain it is a 510 equivalent. From what I understand you like the cigarette size, are not a heavy smoker and think you would prefer the manual button. It seems to me you want a basic 510 manual kit. The blu cartos will still fit it and if you stick with the standard 180 mah batteries you will still be able to use the Blu PCC.

As long as your FIL's push button is a 510 you should have no trouble using it with the Blue cartos.
