So I want to start doing DIY I have ordered the pg, got the vg, ordered a higher strength nic pg and a higher nic strength vg, picking up my flavourings on wednesday.....
I just wanted to make sure that I am calculating this right and need some help lol, today I started trying to add vg to another juice to see the difference in vapor.

I mixed:
3ml of 28mg butter rum PG
1ml of vg

So if I get this right it would be 65% PG/ 35% VG
So the nic would be ?

A little lost and not so great at math, however the vapor is much better than just the pg and I can't wait to start exploring a bit more!

Thanks for your patience :D

Thanks switched, so I was pretty close in my guesses :)
Basics first then on to the harder stuff lol!
Guessing is alright at lower strengths but I would recommend a greater degree of accuracy if you intend on mixing higher concentrations. Accuracy and note keeping will also ensure you are able to duplicate a recipe you like whenever you want:)

Sure, there are calculators out there, but here's how you do the math...

Nic Calc:
3ml x 28mg/ml = 84mg (total nic)
84mg (total nic) / 4ml (total liquid) = 21mg/ml (nic strength)
Figure out the total amount of nic then divide by the total amount of liquid.

VG % Calc:
1ml (total VG) / 4 ml (total liquid) = 0.25 ==> 25% VG
Figure out the total amount of VG then divide by total amount of liquid.

I like Huff's post.

It is important to know the math even if you use a spreadsheet or calculator. If I know the math I can quickly recognize when a total result "looks" wrong and go back and double check my data entry.

Always recheck yourself when working with nic and then recheck. Getting flavor percentage off isn't too bad, but make sure the nic is right.

Knowing the math behind it makes for much better vaping.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
