Been reading all about different wicking materials and came across these little 100% organic cotton facial pads at CVS.

1 ingredient, 100% organic cotton.

Since this is my first forte into re-wicking I wanted to know your thoughts on these....
Maxim Hygiene Organic Cotton Rounds, 80CT - CVS.com

$3.59 for 80 Pads seems like I wouldn't have to worry about wicking material for a while.

When I see the words "embossed structure"... I'd take a pass. It's actually pretty easy to "un-roll" a cotton ball into a cotton strip... where the "grain" of the cotton is linear with the strip, and easy to cut into 1.25" segments from which 4-5 wicks can be produced per segment.

Well, at least that's the way I do it... if I ever run out of the buttload of Graham CelluCotton rayon, and Fiber Freaks wick.

Never tried the ones you mention. For tried and true, take a look at:

I bought some and wicked one up.......needless to say my wife ended up getting 79 make up remover pads LOL

I went ahead and went to a B & M and got some Japanese Organic Cotton, much better....

Later on went back and got wire, wanted to try to rebuild a Kanger ST nano coil. Finally got it right after 4 tries, I think I goofed when I bought 28 gauge wire, I think I need 26.

Still very happy with my first time result.....

Compressed pads are going to have lots of waste, as you can only used the UNSMASHED parts. I would just use regular balls, when using drug store cotton. I would also advise boiling the cotton prior to use. I use Walmart 100% cotton balls.

If you don't want to boil the cotton or un-roll the balls, then get the Japanese pads or the like.
