Newbie question - When to refill the e-juice?

I just got my first rechargeable ecig yesterday. I'm not even sure I should call it an ecig, but it's awesome! It's an eGoT. I bought it at a local vape shop, and the owner was so helpful in guiding me toward what I should use, and letting me try every flavor he had. Anyway, he showed me how to put it together and how to put the juice in. However, I was wondering how low I should allow the juice to go in the tank before I refill it. I don't want to burn it out or ruin it, but I don't want to waste any juice either.

Usually when it's empty I'll put more juice in it.

Does your tank have a way to see the amount of juice left in it?? If it does, refill when there is about 10% left. Once things start getting low, the chance to get a dry hit increases.

Yes, it's clear so I can see how much is left. I let it get about halfway down yesterday and then I refilled it. I wasn't sure if I had to make sure the wick stayed wet or not, but it just about reaches the bottom, I guess.

If you let the wick dry out and try to use it, you'll never do it again. That's called a dry hit, and they're rather nasty.

I tend to fill sooner rather than later. Have you got a clearomizer? (clear tank with inbuilt atomizer) ... do you know what it's called?

I'm lazy at changing and rewinding coils/wicks, and I've noticed that if I let it get too low in my MPT2 the remaining liquid starts to get a nasty brown! If I wait too long there's a nasty tide make between the new and the old until I've rotated and mixed them. So I refill about half way and keep an eye on the original colour of the liquid to see when I have clearly waited too long.

When it's empty.

No, I usually refill at about half. Some clearomizers don't like going below a 1/3 of a tank. Someting to do with the vacuum in it that may cause it to leak when it gets below that.

I wash my tanks every few days ..add new coils and new juice .. ahhhh the flavor !

When it gets really low dump out what's left before you refill it to keep it fresh. Old juice can get a little foul.

At about the 10% mark or it tastes bad. Not really had that, though. I do about 1-1.5ml and then rotate through four tanks so they don't get that hot. I put a sticky on the tank so I know that it is due for cleaning. The bottom coil, can get gunky if I put to much through it.

A little maintenance is needed for a better vape. Its a hobby.

I just want to do this right! I'm so new, I have no idea how to clean this thing, and some of the terms you guys use, I don't get at all. I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.

I have a clear tank. All I can tell you is that it's an eGo T.

Is it a wicked or wickless clearomizer? Meaning can you see the wick twist down the length of the clearomizer or do you just see a long metal tube that goes up with small tiny holes. If you have the one with the stainless steel mesh I wouldn't recommend letting it get below about 1/3 full, but with the standard Ce4 you can let it get almost empty before needed to refill!
