Having just gotten the NPro from njoy several days ago, I didn't want to try and post a review with the big boys but I did want to post for alot of us new e-smokers considering njoy. I ordered NJoy because it seemed like a nice kit for someone who just picked up vaping. The long warranty on the device itself is also appealing when reading about device failures from other sources. That being said the NPro is working fine- for the most part.

Customer Service: Good!
I ordered 2 NPro's (one for my partner and one for myself) along with 3 10 packs of Medium carts. The shipment itself took longer than expected even though we ordered it 2 Day shipping- ended getting it 3 days late. Customer service was very accommodating and refunded us our shipping due to a warehouse issue they had. Easy to reach by phone, difficult to reach by email seems like.

Packaging: Excellent!
Well, I'm gay so I have to review the presentation. Clean packaging, cute design, and environmentally sound. Small boxes packed with everything, well laid out. No waste in packaging, everything was fit nicely inside.

Initial Vape: Good!

(Of course everyone says , charge your batteries for X amount of time before using. Well, I had not had an analog all day waiting for the NPro to arrive so.. yea I just fired up with the attached battery and charged the spare.)

I was really surprised by the smell and vapor production (was starting with a medium nic cart- regular flavor). I'd seen reviews before but it's a different thing when you are the one using the product. Vapor was very good! Taste was oddly carmel and smell was a bit sweet. I don't believe anyone around me could smell it - it was more of an internal taste / smell due to the vape. Not offensive AT ALL just takes a few hours to get used to. One thing I noticed immediately was that the nic in the cart was probably too low for what I was used to. I vaped through the initial cart quickly and with little nicotine satisfaction.

I decided to try one of the high nic carts after I'd blown through one of the mediums (all of these I'm mentioning came with the starter kit). Immediate difference and an audible AHhhhhh as I took the first drag. So I guess I'm more of a heavy smoker than I imagined (denial isn't just a river in Egypt). Thank God we accidentally ordered 3 boxes of HIGH carts with our order.

2 Days Later

So when I initially ordered this product (after reading TONS on this forum) I had already decided I was going to completely dump analogs as soon as I got the product. My partner agreed (after yelling at me that I was spending too much time talking/reading about e-cigs and to just buy one already!) and when the NPro arrived I had no analogs left which was planned. After 2 days I'm still analog free and really enjoying vaping. It takes some time to get used to and I find that I am vaping a few puffs every 15 minutes or so- when I can. This is far from the habit I had before with analogs, while I'm vaping a tad more frequently I'm only taking a few drags, rather than smoking a whole analog once every 15-30 minutes.

NPro Hardware Performance

The NPro is performing well. I'm noticing (actually on both Npro's) one of the two batteries is staying on for the full 5 seconds even if I've stopped vaping and eventually goes off (5 second auto-shutoff) and sometimes turning back on without any warning right after vaping. By reading these boards I've got alot of the tricks to correct common issues (blowing in the opposite end of the battery to unstick switches, blowing out atomizers to clean them and sometimes blowing into the cart just a smidge to unstick switches that won't operate). With these tricks at hand I've been able to handle any issues that have come up, but the sticking batteries are a bit of a concern as we don't want to burn out our atomizers (NJoy only ships one and they don't sell extras- only warranty replacements).

  • Batteries
All in all it's been working great, just make sure you watch your batteries as not to burn out your atomizers. Also check out puresmoker.com or other sources for PeeWee / (RN4081) atomizers as spares.

Battery life has been pretty good averaging 4-6 hours per charge!

  • Atomizer
Plenty of vapor, never gets too hot and not very noisy at all. Again, find extra atomizers! You don't want to be stuck without one if it burns out. Atomizers are considered a disposable component in all e-cigs and last anywhere from days to months depending on usage.

Cartridges

The starter cartridges are fine, nothing special but they work. We also ordered 3 10 packs of the regular flavor (tobacco) high nic carts (we actually ordered medium but thank God they sent High). The flavor is fine, not fantastic but fine. Hint of carmel and nothing special on the after taste. Fresh carts give AMAZING amounts of vapor. Cart life has been quite a bit under their 3/4 pack rating. Both of us used to share 3 packs of smokes a day or less (I did most of the smoking I think) and both of us are finding ourselves going through 3-4 carts a day.

Helpful Hint: If you are going to buy carts, do NOT buy them from Njoy after your initial order. They are way too expensive ($20.00 for 10 carts). You can find PeeWee carts or 4081 carts available for half that price on puresmoker.com and elsewhere. Also considering ordering some e-juice/nic juice/smoke juice/whatever juice and filling your own carts. Bit of a hassle but this is where the cost savings vs analogs come in.

Wrap Up

All in all I'm very happy with our purchase and am really enjoying vaping. Every once and a while I reach for that imaginary analog cigarette out of habit. Hell, we're still vaping downstairs (old habit- we wouldn't smoke upstairs in the house). It takes some getting used to but I really never see myself going back to regular cigarettes. I was with a friend who smokes and the smell was just horrible!

Since both of us are enjoying vaping so much I have also ordered a Janty Dura-C from JantyUsa.com and a Classic Penstyle from puresmoker.com to try out. I hear the vapor production on the pen styles as well as the cart life is much better than the mini's / super minis (duh it's a bigger cart!). Originally my partner was concerned with the look of the e-cig, but now I think we are both about the performance.

Please feel free to ask me any additional questions and sorry for rambling. We're both just really excited and trying to get all of our friends who still smoke to vape instead!

Nice review ozrick... I bought my NPRO in December of 08 and it's still going strong NJOY replaced 1 battery and 2 atomizers and threw in a pack of Carts of my choice, which I thought was excellent.

I also ordered the NCIG it's got great battery and cart life but I'm not having much luck with their atomizers. I've had 2 atomizer die on me within a month. So it's a real bummer when I sit here and stare at my beloved NCIG having to wait for a new atomizer.

(I do have extra penstyle atomizers I bought from beci but they're not as good)

I like the customer support and I think their shipping time is all right, once was like a week, once was 4 days.
I didn't have to send back the NPRO atomizers but I did send back the NPRO battery.

I was asked to send back the atomizer for the NCIG, I had it in an envelope ready to go but forgot all about it, 2 weeks later and the second atomizer for the NCIG died so I guess I'll open the envelope and get them both in the mail 1st thing Monday.

Just a quick update: 4 days in and the unit is still working fine. Good vape and cart life seems a bit better. Originally I was vaping up to 3-4 carts the first few days now I seem to be leveling out around 2.

Ordered some replacement atomizers via RuyanDirect.com so I'm happy!

Looking forward to my penstyle from Puresmoker.com and my Janty-C to arrive!

Hey Ozrick, good review. Any Comments you have on ordering from RuyanDirect.com would be appreciated. The atomisers for the Npro model are hard to find online in the UK, and I think they ship worldwide.

Cheers.

Hello i am new to the forums here as well as to the e-cig world. i purchased a npro an being all excited about what i have seen on here i couldnt wait until the battery charged. lol

Well i think I am doing something wrong here? When I go to puff on the npro i get the juices coming out of the cart which I am sure is not good. I thought maybe it was a bad cart so I tried another one and I get the same thing? What am I doing wrong here? I haven't added any juice to them its just the starter kit.

Any help would be greatly apprecaited

It could be your technique if you're used to taking fast drags off an analog cigarette. Try taking long, slow, smooth, drags instead. The trick is to draw just hard enough to keep the light glowing - with practice you'll be able to do this without going permanently crosseyed ;)

I drive a truck and have seen these things at the pilot truckstops for a while now. Their advertising didn't impress me at all and the prices were so outrageous (plus the fact that you had to buy a "starter kit" for around $70) that I just dismissed the whole thing as a scam.

Recently I've had some allergy issues resulting in a bad cough and a really unpleasant smoking experience. Since I am a light smoker and often just do it because of the ritual, I finally decided to google the e-cigarette and see what I could find. That led me here, and I have a 901 on the way, but I couldn't wait to get started.

Pilot has recently started selling a smaller kit for $30, so I picked one of those up to get me going. I have not had an "analog" since the day I got it, but that is in no way an endorsement of the n-pro.

It produced decent vapor for a few hours. Since then it has been on and off. I have used it a lot over the past week, and the battery does not last long at all. I can't imagine what it would be like for a heavy smoker. However, it could be that I am draining the battery trying to get a decent drag.
It is just totally inconsistent after the first two or three puffs.

The cartridge life is absurdly short as well considering that they sell them for $2 a piece. I seem to get a little over one smoke out of one.
That makes camel's look frugal even when you include the taxes.

I knew that this wasn't one of the best models, but I wanted something immediately and these are available at most Pilots. If you need something quick it's not a bad deal. Better than the mall prices from what I hear.
If you can wait I would look for something else online.

I'm actually sincerely surprised that my husband and I were able to quit with the npros. The battery life stinks, the batteries don't set off every time (especially if your atomizer has crazy easy draw on it), you have to suck so hard to set it off that you have to collapse a lung to get them to work...and you have to do a primer puff or two to even get them to make decent vapor and get around the cutoff on the battery. I, for one, cannot figure out how we quit on them, but we did. But now, we don't use any auto batteries, once we tried an e-cig with a button...that's all we have ever use!

wern, all ecigs can leak in your mouth if flooded or if you overfill or if you just accidentally get some on the outside of the cartridge (or it leaks there on it's own). Heck, it's a daily occurrence for me to get a tiny taste of the liquid on any of my ecigs with cartridges. It just happens, you'll get better at it and will avoid it more and more as time goes by.

To the original OP, thank you for your review. I really loved my npro when I first started vaping. Njoy does have wonderful customer service. They answer questions (heck, just answering the phone is awesome as well), they send out replacements with no questions asked (they asked me to send my stuff back but I never did, but they didn't wait for it back before they sent replacements). All in all, njoy is a great place. You can get the same things cheaper elsewhere, but they do have wonderful customer service and their warranty is fantastic (1 year is what it used to be, and I'm sure it still is).
