I bought a smoke 51 on Thursday from a local store. It has a lifetime warranty and the store will replace it as often as needed. So I have a few questions.

How long does the battery last? I took a battery off the charger last night and smoked it a couple times then this morning it was failing. How long do cartridges last? I have been making on lat about 34 hours. Is there a proper inhaling technique?

One of my batteries stopped working alltogether last night and the other seems to be getting hot but not producing much vapor. I am taking the kit in to exchange today, but am wondering if this is a problem with smoke 51 commonly.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Smoke 51 was my first kit......it got me off cigs, so i cant be all that dissapointed - a battery would last me about an hour or so....but i am a heavy vaper....i would go through 2-3 carts a day at heavy useage. i noticed that giving the cart a "slight" turn, this makes the draw not so harsh, and lets air flow better...since then, i ended up here and have a whole new world of vaping...i quickly ditched the 51 and picked up both the Tornado/Ego and the Screwdriver MkII - i used my 51 for the first time a couple days ago to pay my respects.....i still have around 30 (5 packs of carts) - PM me if you wanna good deal on them......thx BTW...i have returned numerous batterys, and they never gave me a problem at the local kiosk...

Hello mt400.

Welcome to ECF! I wouldn't stick with smoke51. I've been to their website, and IMHO their prices are too high. There are many suppliers here on the forum with much lower prices, and fast shipping.
Depending on the model (you may have a KR808), and how much you use it, a battery charge should last about 2 hours. The batteries should last much longer than what you described.
Since I fill my own carts, I can't tell you about your cartridges.
Check out the "Illustrated Guide to Vaping" in the New Members section for more information. I hope it will help.

Welcome,
Go exhaust your warranty options... you paid well for them I am sure.
In the mean time, go to Madvapes.com and order a disposable 510 for $10.00 and some liquid to get you through the frustration of dealing with your high dollar unit. The shipping is cheap too.
Then spend some time... alot of time, reading on this forum.

I haven't used smoke 51 in about a year. So I know what they use to have, unfortunately I don't know what they have now. Hopefully it is better then what I had.
They use to have loong totem (ltv9's were the model numbers) then I saw loong totem have a big fat sale on a lot of smoke 51 branded stuff. I don't know what happened there. I wonder if the place you bought from has actually ordered from smoke 51 wholesale or has stock from the huge loong totem sale of smoke 51 branded stuff.

What I can say is that I no longer order from smoke 51 because their batteries last year were not very good. The most I ever got out of them was 2 weeks. A lifetime warranty is nice and they did stand by it but it gets old quick having to return and wait and or having to smoke cigs when you have no working batteries left and the store is closed. Things are much less expensive elsewhere and probably better quality. I only say probably because I don't know what smoke 51 has now as far as stock.

I started with a 51 as well, and while they showed me the potential of a better model, they are subpar at best. I gave mine to my sister in hopes it leads her down the path we are on. I almost immediately ordered an eGo and then a 5v usb 510 passthrough device. Both are outstanding, and really deliver on vapor and taste. The 510 PT was $15 (plus another $20 so I can use it on a car and/or wall charger). This ofrum is exceptional and everyone so helpful, take advanatge and enjoy!

Well thanks for the help. Smoke 51 won't refund me they only exchange products. The batteries seem to be working ok now, maybe I was just expecting them to last longer. I have the smoke 51 duo and I thought batteries would last a day. I guess I will browse this site for better options in the near future. What do you guys recommend? I am trying to save some money by not smoking real cigarettes, but still being satisfied.

Thanks. Is that 2 hours of just sitting around idle, or two hours of vaping?

The Duo from Smoke 51 is not a KR808 and the cartridges will not fit. You have to buy "GreenCig" cartridges from other vendors here such as "Bloog" or Totem". I pulled out my old " Duo" a month ago and it is actually a pretty good PV.

I would never buy from Smoke 51 again because I had to file a complaint with American Express to get them to stop recurring charges against my card. Besides the fact that theyy are 3 times more expensive than anybody else.

I am a smoke 51 convert to pv vapor also .It got me by for a week or so while finding this site and a new universe of not smoking again. That said run fast and far from smoke 51,my thoughts on giving it so anyone else is dont do it, you could frustrate them into smoking for life.If its not good enough for you throwing it in the can or stash it for memories.

I started with the Smoke51 about 2 weeks ago. Being almost brand new to this, I was not at all aware of the parts involved in keeping these things running :) The Smoke51 web site is terrible, and provides terrible service from what I have seen.

The mall kiosks are WAY too expensive after some quick research online after I made my purchase. My kit was $150, and each box of 6 cartridges was $15. Each additional battery is $40, an atomizer is $30, and a car charger was $50. They say they offer a lifetime guarantee, but I have yet to find a part they will replace for free without charging. My atomizer died after the first week, and I had to purchase another for $30.

On the other hand...I love the unit, but have nothing to compare it to yet. I just got a DSE901 in the mail, but have no idea how long to charge it for because it didn't come with the user manual.

I have a feeling that the Smoke51 isn't worth it, however it does last me all day on a single battery, and the cartridges are usually shot around this time (midnight). Overall, I like it, but wouldn't continue paying the high prices for maintaining the unit. That's why I switched, and am really hoping the DSE901 is just as good, because it is MUCH cheaper.

I only smoke about every hour so that would mean I can't really leave my house with it.

I have a Joye 510 and my regular batteries last about 2 hours with heavy usage. My mega batts last about 3 hours. And I also have an eGo battery that lasts about 8 hours--I really like my eGo! I haven't tested any of my batteries to see how long they hold a charge without usage, so I can't help you there. Hope this helps.

sorry if i'm alittle late, but i am about two weeks into my vaping and have already blown a ton of dough:confused:. I have a blu, a smoke 51 duo, and a worthless njoy npro. out of all of them i like the taste, throat hit and vapor amount of the 51 duo, which i now know is a 808/ltv9. if i really like the taste of the tobacco flavored 12mg catomizers.
is there
1 a difference in juice from the 51 to say a loong totem or epuff,
2 a cart comprable to that with the l88b (without dripping/ dipping just yet),
3 anything like that for that crap npro?
thanks

Last yr when I started, smoke 51 was using a re-branded loong totem ltv9 not 808. Not sure what they are using now but everything looks the same on their site. I haven't ordered from them in a year. I got tired of sending things back. I did like thier menthol back then it, not sure if I would now. I keep wondering if they use dekang juice. I may order some one day just to see. Only problem I have read about that is that companies mix dekang to make thier own flavors.
I am not familiar with the other models you mention.
