I joined this site a few months ago, trying to learn a little about e-cigs. I must admit I was overwhelmed to say the least, so I put the e-cig thing on the back burner. Fast forward to Saturday, Jan. 8th of this year. I purchased an Ego-T along with some e-juice. Sunday, I smoked 2 analogs all day! Monday and every day since, I have been analog free. This is after 35 years of smoking. At times I was up to 3 packs a day. I have been "stuffin' my own" for about 5 years so they were pretty cheap. Really never worried about the money anyway, just as long as I could smoke. I feel good about what I've accomplished so far because I don't think I have the right PV, and I'm still on the hunt for my favorite juice.

I have been mixing my own juice and find that the time I devote to mixing takes the place of stuffin' time every evening. I do small quantities so I can taste a lot of different juices. I've had good ones and bad ones but not the right one yet. Might be a good thing because experimenting keeps me busy.

I don't think I have the right pv because of the leaking issues with Ego-T's. Very classy look though.

I still want an analog but overall it has been pretty easy to fill that void with my Ego.

Thanks to everyone who makes this site possible.

And yes, I would recommend ECF to a friend.:2cool:

Very nice! Hope to be completely free of the analogs myself soon.

I have read alot of comments that state that tank systems do leak, but that the eGo itself is still a nice unit. I bought an eGo clone (Volcano Inferno) with 2 different setups: drip tip and cartomizer. Neither leaks, they hit differently even with the same juice and I'm overall quite happy so far with both setups. I would recommend researching cartos before you go tossing the whole pv :)

Awesome job Mattwo, as far as the "right" liquid goes keep at it you know what you like and you will eventually be able to find the right mix to get you your all day vape. As far as the leaking goes th eGo-t did have some of those issues from time to time with me. I usually would find that "adjusting" the wick seemed to do the trick fairly regularly. It does require some finesse to remove the needle plate but i have done it so many times now that i even own a special pair of tin long nose pliers that are still in my supplies box..lol. something like tis should get you in there.

Any way also as far as a suggestion for that great vape i personally favor the Boge 2 ohm cartomizers like these Boge 510 Cartomizers for 510 or eGo and this is my personal favorite vendor as well. They produce a good, flavorful, reliable vape. And also welcome to the ECF. Good Luck Happy Vaping.

eGo battery with a Boge 2.0 cartomizer is your answer...no leaking..awesome vapor production and flavor. Now to get to the "right" juice. If you want a nice tobacco blend...try Vermillion River's Kentucky blends. If you want some sweeter stuff like fruit, you'll find their Florida Citrus Explosion and excellent choice along with Watermellon, Pineapple....heck, try them all. I've been experimenting with juices and find Vermillon an excellent choice as they blend PG with VG (70-30 or 80-20 ratios). Wonderful flavors and plenty of vapors.

Here's the link to the juices:

I know what you mean about prep time being a ritual. I'm usually sitting crosslegged, hunched over the table like a monk while I refill cartos.

You'll be really happy with that Ego once you get some Boge LR cartos (as everyone's mentioned). That's the setup I use and the convenience of cartos is worth the time to fill 'em. And the atomizers will introduce you to the world of dripping. There's a lot to discover.

My situation is just about the same as the O.P. - Smoker for 45 years, RYO for the last 5 except for this last month when I switched to a pipe, hoping I could make my self-imposed Jan 31 (60th bday) deadline for giving up the tobacco. Jan 31 was looking doubtful until yesterday.. when I found this site & rushed out to the local Walgreens to buy a Blu starter kit.

I'm f'ing blown away with e-cigs!!. 24 hours without tobacco. Previously impossible.

I'm a convert & forum member for life (literally?) :) .. Wish I'd just found these things sooner. Thanks to everyone here for helping to untangle all of my options. I think the 'wild ride' comment may be very appropriate. I've got a huge grin on my face right now and can't wait to experiment.

How can I set up an Avatar here, and where do I get one of those 'days without' banners??

You may become frustrated with Blu cigs in the very near future. There are alot of resources here to help you find something better. The next most common and logical step is an eGo style pv. I personally chose The INFERNO Kit Electronic Cigarettes | ECig Atomizers but have heard nothing but good things about KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

The Kgo 1100 mah kit is currently out of stock at Hoosiers. Here's a comparable kit that's available for about the same price and this one comes with 5 cartos of your choice instead of carts. You will be much happier with cartos and Boge 2.0 LR is a good place to start.....

Welcome and ... Wow - sounds like you took the advanced vaper route off the bat!

Personally, as a convert-to-be, I find there's just so much out there it's too much out there. I think I'm probably going to start with a disposable here and a disposable there to see if I like the flavors from this or that company, before I dedicate to a single starter kit... and the simplest most basic one at that...

What made you go for the advanced - didn't like the basic flavors or... what?

Mediaguy, Most people on this forum would not suggest the disposables. To each his own. I tried RY-4 and some Cappuccino from a local vape shop. Neither were bad but could have been better. (Lots of variables, i.e. vaping system and juice) It's easy to get PG/VG in almost any ready to vape combination of nicotine and % of PG/VG. I purchased some 50/50%, 24mg base and added flavors. The flavors have been from Lorann and FlavourArt. I placed an order with TPA last night. I have been using the SWAG method to get the right mix for me. I also purchased some 100mg nic juice in a PV base along with plane PG and VG. I have used the ejuice calculator to figure nicotine levels if I use the higher concentration of nicotine juice. It's time consuming but a lot of fun for me. I don't get out much! An added plus is, I'm learning something!

LOL yeah I'm a work-at-home guy so getting out is... an option rather than a daily occurence... except for walking the dog, of course.

Well I'm still looking into the mechanics of stuff like types of e-cigs, auto vs. manual, etc.. Disposable versus refillable cartridges for example: I imagine they're not interchangeable between brands, and so if I wanted to get better/cheaper cartridges would then have to change brands if I had the wrong type of PV or e-cig (right?). And so on, if you know what I mean. Plus, I see myself mixing when I've become a Jedi Vaper, so I want something that will give me options, and not become a meccano set right at first...
