I just had the same experience on a visit home for the holidays. My wife was doing some shopping when I noticed a new vape shop had opened up across the shopping center. I wandered over and was pleasantly surprised to find a sample bar where you could try out different flavors. I wish I had found one of these some time back and I wouldn’t have several bottles of juice that I’ll never use.

I love brick and mortar stores. It's so nice to see how much vaping is evolving, they just opened a couple in a 25 mile radius of where I live. one of the stores has prices that almost compete with online markets, at least...that's what it seems like on their website. They are closed monday but I will have to see if they are open tomorrow and take a ride over there! I love supporting small businesses in the local area, it's what keeps the economy growing!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a few vape shops in my area. Being new to this whole thing, I loved being able to try some juices to find out what I liked. I expected to stick to menthol flavors, since I was a menthol analog smoker. But apparently fruity flavors are more my taste. Who knew!

NC, huh. I think Madvapes has a shop around you! Not sure what part you are in, but I have seen pics of their shop and it looks well worth the drive!

I was the same way when i first stared vaping. I always thought "Would I ever smoke a chocolate almond bar? Would I ever smoke a candycane? No." Then I tried it and I was like....... why did I ever think this would be a bad idea!?!?!

I think a lot of us came to vaping with that same preconceived notion that we needed to replace the tobacco/menthol taste. I could have never imagined some of the stuff I enjoy vaping, and much of it thanks to my local vape shops.

So far I've been to three different B&M vape shops - two of which were also 'vape lounges'.

One thing I've noticed at the sampler bar is - often the 0mg nic sample flavours taste different from the 18mg nic bottles I purchase. I have difficulty grasping the actual flavour with a 0mg sample - it seems rather faint to me without the nicotine. Several I've sampled and then bought...I didn't like when I got home. Black cherry was one. Mango another. Both tasted somewhat good at 0mg nic - but weren't so good when I vaped the nicotine versions later (the black cherry turned out tasting like Benylin cough syrup...the mango was just gross).

And I don't quite understand the attraction to sitting in a lounge among others with the only commonality being vaping. I smoked cigs for 35 years - but never heard of a cigarette lounge as a place to get together with other smokers for the sole purpose of...smoking (okay, granted...I've heard of cigar lounges - but never knew/met anyone who frequented them). Maybe it's an age thing? (shrug). Is it something destined to be another pet rock fad perhaps?

One aspect that somewhat bothers me is one of the B&M shops I've visited sells e-liquid with very shoddy, DIY labeling on the bottles - very sketchy looking as if done in someone's basement on a dot-matrix printer from the mid-80s. To me, it's not a good, respectable image to present to the public. It makes me question the contents of the bottles.

I think it's either Charlotte or Raleigh, neither of which are too far from me. I definitely need to check them out!

Since vaping is still relatively new, I think there's a sense of community about it. That, and it's nice to have people to talk to about the different equipment /juices. The world of vaping is a lot more varied than analogs.

I'm glad I didn't order my starter kit and juice online. I have a B&M less than a mile from the house with staff that can't be beat.

No homebrews, all brand name juices (Rocket Fuel, Halo, others), and he had a flavor station. 30-45 minutes of tasting before I settled on the 3 for my starter kit. Came back a week later for a 4th :D

Go figure. I couldn't stand menthol analogs but with Vaping I find I like the mint flavors best with fruit a very close second. I even found one at my local shop that they say is supposed to taste like Red Bull but I found it tastes more like Smarties Candy. My daughter even asked "who has the Smarties and give me some"??? That one is my treat tank! :headbang:
