howdy newbies,,,newbie here myself,,,,,i went with the VOLT..(kr808 model,,known here on the forum as "808"s),,,i considered the other main option,,,the "510's.....only main difference was the the threading of the parts,,(and they do sell adapters to convert one to another,,cheap,,5 bucks or so,,),,,i bypassed the "look like a cig" stage,,and went for the new x2 MANUAL (dont do auto..so much more control,,and no worry about shorting the battery w/juice) batteries..(like a magic marker-sharpie..very comfortable in hand,,and rugged,,,paid 30 bucks for the 1300 ma,,largest,,will outlast my cordless phone!...),,,,order the blank XL cartos from volt,,not the reg size,,,1.4ml cap. vs 1ml.cap...LOVE the vapor,,and taste on the larger cartos from volt,,,,tried their new clearos,,,6.50 a pop...i like my XL cartos better,,,,,just as easy to load with juice,,,and much more dependable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,as for juice,,,volt suckes,,so many better out there,,and cheaper,,,starters should go with strong flavors,,,coffee,,,menthol,,,butterscotch,,,,have some tobacco flavor on hand,,,its what you are used to,,,....

if i had to rechoose my starter..i could go with a 510 thread setup,,but wanting starter simplicenty,,i went w/ volt 808 thread,,all volt batts are 3.6 regulated..and very good...as your vaping tastes expand(by now you should be off analogs,,but i catch myself,,tokin one every now and then,,not a problem,,they DO taste bad vs vaping!!)...........

im glad i jumped the starter phase of batts,,,my 1300 is very discreete,,,the 650ma volts,,,like the 510 e-gos,,are even smaller..all day vape..with a plug in midday,,,,,,,i try to tell starters to stay away from the look-a-like cig batts,,because,,they just dont hold the juice ya need,,,always recharging,,,between charging,,and finding flavor,,,ya go back to analogs,,,,screw the looks,,,go for the power!,,

as a newbie,,,ive found,,mount baker vapors menthol ice @50/50-great!,,got 18mg,,should have got 24,,,.....in t/h,,morning vape,,,,smooth,,,,expressos,,and caramels are GREAT starter vapes,,,,buy your juice from someone who HAS em in stock,,screw casablanca and boba,,,,i started making my own,,,flavorings are cheaper than premix for all the flavors out there,,will keep ya posted,,as for now,,i vape tobacco in the morning wake-up,,(habit,,eh?),,then,,butterscotch/caromel/cotton candy midday,,then menthol at night..(and i didnt even smoke menthol analogs!),,,your tastebuds are waking up from the old sticks,,,you will feel more energy waking up,,and during the day,,,,hope this helps,,,,Vape On!!...........

I ordered the Pro Starter kit with the V2 Mega Charging case, 1 auto and 1 manual battery (just wanted to test each). 5 blank carts, 1 bottle of ice menthol, and 1 of the menthol burst. I also ordered a V2 1300mAH battery. And a few extra chargers to start with, for office, home, and car.

If this works out well, this will probably go to my girlfriend if she will stick with it. I really would like for her to quit as well.

What are some good locations to start hunting for assortments of juices?

As I mentioned, Backwoods Brew and Alien Visions are among my favorites, but there are also a number of companies that offer sample packs, which might be a good way to go. Halo, Want2Vape, and Mom and Pop's Vapor Shop come to mind. Others might know more companies that sell sample packs. Halo has a nice assortment of menthol juices.

If you want something similar to the BLU, but higher quality, rechargeable, and refillable, I'd consider going with a Joye 510 with a manual button. There are several options with the 510 -- from cartos to tanks. It's a really versatile device. If you don't mind something that's slightly bigger, I like the Joye eGo-C. A great vendor that sells all things Joye is Cignot. Their service is the best out there, and fast too.

Just ordered my first kit from Cignot, its the Joye 510 kit with a PCC. Read a lot of good things about this kit and thought i'd give it a try, will be camping out my mailbox for the next few days. Hope all goes well and thankyou for all of the advice, finding a website to order from was harder than i expected so if all goes well i will repost and maybe give another newbie some confidence on ordering their own kit. ^_^

Welcome to ECF, and great choice going with Cignot! There are some excellent companies out there in the vaping biz, but Cignot is the best of the best. I see that you're from Cali -- I usually receive Cignot orders 2-3 days after ordering with standard shipping, so at least your camp-out won't be that long! I hope you enjoy your 510!
