Welcome to ECF and also congrats on your new decission. Your going to get a lot of different opinions here on different things. Lots of people recomend the "smokeless image Volt" others will recomend the twist, spinners, eGo 510's. Now that I've confused you from the start. The best thing I can personally recomend is to check things out before you buy. See if others on the forum know anything about that product. KGO kit1100mAh by SLB This is one of them I started with. Good luck on your new journey and please don't let all the information give you a brain freeze.

I know that the Smokeless Image Volt was one of my very first PVs, and it's a great way to start. Good equpment, lots of flavor choices, good prices, great CS, tons of cool accessories...and you can "graduate" to larger mAh batteries (X2) when you are ready all at the same site! They are good units. It's true I've moved more into the 510 mods now (nothing fancy...just basic mods) but I still use my X2s some of the time. And still get some of their juice, too!

It's really confusing at first, but you'll need to figure out how you'll be using it.

It depends on how you'll be using it and what you consider more convenient for you. Typically most people start with the ecigs that look like actual cigarettes. But their battery life is bad, and you're probably going to use catridges. If you don't mind using a bigger battery for performance the Ego-C Twist is pretty much the standard for beginners and is really good and the 1000 mAh Ego-C Twist will probably last you all day.

Now there are a few juice delivery systems, there are atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers and tanks. Atomizers require you to drip drops of ejuice regularly. Cartomizers are like the ecig cartridges for blue, they can be refilled and used many times. Tanks are what goes around a cartomizer, it allows it to hold more juice and stay saturated better. Clearomizers are like a tank and cartomizer system but they're mostly all one piece and some even have replaceable parts.

Just keep looking around and try to absorb all the information, you'll understand it. Also if you have a vaper store located close by it's nice to go check it out and familiarize yourself a little better.

It's already been said, will be said again, and I'll say it too......Ego Twist/Vision Spinner and ViVi Nova. It's a good place to start.

The twist/spinner will allow you to see what variable voltage can do.

The ViVi comes with 3 atomizers that are different ohms and will allow you to see how that affects your vape.

Good luck.

best advise from one newbie to the next, spend an hour + reading the new members information thread. you WILL have questions after reading it, but it's filled with useful info that will answer some of the more basic stuff.

alot of people including myself are starting with ego twist batteries combod with CE4 or vivi clearos etc which are much much better flavor/performance than the cheap gas station ecig and per the experts is a good backup for when you upgrade to the ultra fancy stuff and you don't want to carry your $200 provari around

good luck and welcome!

Exactly. Read, read, read. There is more information here than you you could ever need. I know most of my friends have had the most success starting off with an ego type. But there is really no bad choice. Just don't base your stuff on the cheap ecigs found in gas stations. And don't get suckered into buying disposable cartridges. fill your own with juice.

Oh, I definitely want to do the refill thing. I am so excited about the flavor options I have seen. I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these things! I am just so confused but am starting to catch on. Like I said in a previous reply I want it to be refillable (lots of flavor options), girly looking, and I would like there to be "smoke" or vapor. Would be cool to also have one that doesn't have that so I can use it indoors without any crazy looks.

All of them will produce some vapor. There are ways of stealth vaping though so you go unnoticed. Just hold it in for a couple seconds, for example, and it will dissipate. Some liquids produce more vapor than others also based on their composition.

I'd have to agree with Crumudgeon about the twist/spinner and a vivi nova. The mini vivi nova is the same diameter as the battery so it'll look more elegant. For your girly side the Twist comes in pink!

I haven't used a KGO. From what I understand power output on it is not regulated so the fuller the charge the hotter it will be. The twist regulates the voltage to what you have set until just before the battery goes flat.

The twisting really is just turning up or down the heat and you can just fiddle with it until it's where you want it and then forget about it. The eGo style batteries come from 400mAh - 1300mAh. People will say that a rule of thumb is the battery will last about an hour for each 100mAh; but that's HIGHLY dependent on your setup and how you vape. Beyond that you'll be looking at big battery "mods" of which there are nearly endless options.

Welcome!

First of all, how much have/do you currently smoke, and for how long? My suggestion is just that. I believe in starting right off with a variable volt unit such as a Joye eGo 1000 mAh Twist, or a 1300 mAh Spinner. A vv will give you more range to set the voltage that works best for you. Higher mAh units also last longer in between charges. One or more the following: Vivi Nova, Splitfire, or Kranger T3. I started with something lesser (a cig-a-like), and felt I wasted money.

You will also need juice. There are several great vendors with different prices. I found ECBlend to have good juice, and for a reasonable price.

Hello! I must admit I'm a noob and have not started using ecigs yet. I have purchased a few disposables at 711 and want to switch over but I'm so clueless an don't know where to start! Any information and or suggestions/recommendations are welcomed!

Search results for: 'Spinner'

1300mah Spinner. I just got my Spinner yesterday and it's 100% better than the Twist imo.

The idea behind the Twist/Spinner is that you can adjust the voltage. Normal voltage on non variable voltage devices is ~3.7 volts. The Spinner gives you voltage 3.2v-4.8v. The reason for adjusting voltage is so you customize to suit your taste. Trust us, it can make a difference or you can just set it to 3.7 volts and forget about it. They really don't cost much more to have the option.

X3 or 4 on the Twist or Spinner. It's not that much more than a single-volt eGo and gives you a lot more flexibility in customizing your vaping experience. When you first start using it, you can just set it to 3.6V and ignore it until you think your ready to fiddle with it and see what it does.
You can get kits that come with two batteries, two or more atomizing devices, and a single charger. Throw in another USB charger and you can get both you and your BF off the analogs if you're both light to moderate smokers (say, less than a pack a day) for around $70 or less. If you are heavier smokers, you will probably want a kit each as the second battery allows you to charge one while using the other.
