I've done like 3 posts guess it's just going to take a while. It's weird though you can create an album and add pictures of yourself but NOT make one a profile picture!

What you're looking for is the Avatar option. Profile pictures show only within your profile.
At the top right of the page, click on Settings. Then on the left column, you'll see an option to Edit Avatar. This is the image that shows with your posts on ECF.
And we have a policy regarding nonsense posts just to raise your post count. Don't do it.
