Yes, after much research, I've decided it wasn't REALLY my fault. The adapter should not have failed, because it never should have tried to supply my phone with more than 500ma in the first place. It was just cheap circuitry.

Incidentally, one of the things I like about motherboard is that Gigabyte has seen fit to exceed the USB specifications. The front USB ports, in addition to being able to charge a device while the computer is off, can put out more than 500ma. 1500ma to be exact! That's enough to power just about anything you could think to plug into it (according to this anyway...)Anyway, it's great for me as a vaper. Fewer adapters to keep track of.

That's a USB 3.0 mobo. Very nice. I haven't upgraded to 3.0 yet, as I don't have any devices that support it, but my next mobo will be sure to have it. The transfer speeds are obscenely fast in comparison.

This seems like an excellent place to ask my charger question if you don't mind.

I just broke the USB cable for my Darwin. The original charger says:

Input: ac100-240v. 200mA. 47-63hz
Output: dc 4.5v-9.5v max 800mA

I have three other chargers, and was wondering which (if any) would be safe to use here. If you could just point out which letter options would be a safe alternative, I'd be most grateful! I'd love to use at least on of the wall chargers, and if the blackberry charger could work as a passthrough in the car that would be amazing!

Option A). Generic USB wall plug travel charger
Input AC 100-240
Output Dc 5v-12v. No Hz or Ma rating.

Option B). HTC mini USB cell phone charger
Input 100-240~0.2A. 50-60Hz
Output: 5v_~_1A LPS??

Option C). "celular innovations" USB wall plug travel charger
Input 100-240v. 50-60Hz. 0.15A
Output 5.25v~1A

Option D). (cigarette lighter plug only). Blackberry car charger.
Imput: DC 12-24v. 0.3A/0.15A
Output: DC 5V. 500mA. (5Vc.c. 500mA)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Not wanting to be the one who causes "smoke" to come out of your Darwin instead of vapor, I'll refer you to this post. According to the guy who did the review it's just a cable that terminates in a standard type A on the charger end and a sub mini (common to cell phones) on the other. If it's just the cable you need you should be able to find one in a store.

if not, here's a link for one at a $1 price.

Darwin e-cig mod reviews
I owned a darwin. It does everything right. It looks great in a “form follows function” way. It’s long, but it’s skinny and fits awesome in a pocket. The folding arm is slick because it protects the awesome voltage wheel and brass button. The button is fantastic. It has enough battery power to last you all day until you plug it in before bed, and uses a standard usb-mini connection for recharging. You can find the cables in any store. It’s not too heavy. While I don’t feel it even needs the LCD readout due to the amazing ease of operation, the readout does provide a wealth of neat information, including what the resistance of your atomizer is. It’s tough. I’m sure you’d ding the finish if you dropped it on concrete, but I highly doubt it would stop working. However…
