I am a newbie. I just started vaping a couple of days ago. When I ordered my hardware I ordered some basic cartos with my box mod. I order some alien e-juice and some from Heathers Heavenly vapes. I was vaping the alien in one of those basic cartos I got in with my hardware. It was 5 in a box for something like 8.00 bucks. I loaded with the alien juice and the throat hit was outrageous. Throat and mouth was sour. I ordered just some atomizers and decided to try dripping some Heathers Heavenly vapes. Man I thought I had gone to heaven. THroat his was so much less. I was wondering how to suffer through the alien vision juice. Anyway, to make this shorter, the problem was the cartos. I dripped some alien and the harshness was much less from the atty. Just letting you know if you go through a carto the taste can be greatly hampered from the material I guess they use as the wick. This was all VG juice also, guess it is thicker and has a harder time wicking.

100% VG usually does cause wicking problems, you can counter that by using PG, PGA(pure grain alcohol) or distilled water. Happy vaping and welcome to ECF
You are right in your assumptions VG is very thick try 50/50 PG VG mix for carts or I use 70 PG and 30 VG my self.
